Family friendly, great for a meal out or just a drink, good food and good value. Good playarea for the kids.

Local for me, have been many times; always good for a decent, cheap meal. Can be a long wait on a busy bank holiday, but they have always told us that on the way in so you can choose if you are prepared to wait or not, otherwise it is normally quick and friendly service

Been going here for years. Had 2 doubles on table and a bit of lager left in glass on table. Went out for a cig, came back and table cleared. Was told tough cos we left and didnt inform them. We was only gone for 5 mins and are regulars and due to it being busy and due to there being full glasses on the table we would b fine. After trying to explain about our missing drinks to the lady with the glasses and purple hair she told me to chill my beans, even though we were not showing any sign of anger towards her just questioning what had happened. After some discussion and 2 staff being involved we were told that we could only have singles and pints cos we left the table. Eventually we agreed on just the doubles ( which we were mostly bothered about as they cost £14!) Drank them and left. I am appauled by the way we were treated when we have been giving them our custom for years and we will be looking for another local. Even if we have to walk.

We had been out to celebrate my birthday. We had been to Sheffield and got cought in a traffic jam . We had not been to the Tawny owl for a few year's due to a bad experience here. So e thought we would give it another chance. We were both hungry so we called in. The pub was well decorated and quite busy. We ordered our food and didn't have to wait too long to be served. The food was ok, we ordered a sweet. When it arrived one of the dishes had a big hairline crack in it from one side to the other. Could not be bothered to say anything she ate it. When we paid we told the girl about the bowl and all she said was ok. Think it might be a while before we go again unless we are desperate.
