Found this place on Google maps when visiting Margam House. Thought we would give it a try. What a great choice it turned out to be. Welcome was friendly from the owner. From starter to dessert, the food was great! Staff were attentive enough. Really nice experience. Also was introduced by the owner to a new experience by way of a red IPA! If in this neck of the woods again, we would definitely come back. Keep up the good work.
Went to Taste this afternoon for lunch with my friend Alex. She had scampi and I had a minted lamb burger with coleslaw and chips. We both thoroughly enjoyed our food. The service was very good and the staff were extremely friendly. Would recommend this brasserie to anyone, well worth a visit.
Nice ambience, but a confusing menu. Staff really took their time to provide table service. Additionally waiters were a little confused as to what was lunch menu and what was dinner menu. It would have been nice if some of the lunch dishes could be available for dinner. This caused vegetarian and gluten free issues for members of the group and we had booked for a birthday celebration. We left to eat elsewhere. Such a pity.

Lovely place, food and staff. Had food from the lunch menu, excellent portions and great value, just need to update the website as advertised as 2 for £12. Will definitely be there again and recommend.
Fantastic food once again. Had both sunday lunch and normal evening food. Staff can't do enough for you. So polite. Great place to bring children also. Will be coming here often. Thank you once again taste.
Excellent find - great food and friendly staff who fed us up well ahead of a big bike ride the following day. Intimate knowledge of the climb through the Rhigos came in handy, as did the warning about the sheep! Looking forward to returning. Good luck on your ride from Snowdonia to Port Talbot!
Owner argues with you over descriptions being not what is served as "own take" in the menu. The truth is various cheaper ingredients had been substituted or had been left out altogether. Surely this is trades description? He told me his chef is Michelin trained but it's no different from what you would do, home cooking. Expensive, slow service, uninspiring and the most sad, customer aggressive. Give it a wide birth. Never again.
Never have I been so disappointed and upset at a restaurant. Where do I start...? Firstly, the staff were slow and were not aware of what drinks were on offer, but of course we could put that down to inexperience. Me and my partner eyed the menu which didn’t have a huge choice, but sounded fine, but then the owner came over with another menu with a special ‘2 meals for £15’ deal. It all sounded great, so I opted for the chicken and prosciutto ham Caesar salad my fave by the way...I’m a little predictable if that’s ever on the menu!, and my partner opted for the pub classic hunters chicken! The waitress service was slow so it was a good 15 mins before the order was taken, and another 40 mins before the food arrived - a long time considering there was only one other table occupied. We looked at our food, it didn’t look anything special, there was a severe lack of quantity of food for my partner, and mine didn’t resemble a Caesar salad in any way, shape or form. It consisted of lettuce, cucumber, tomato, carrots, rocket, chicken, bacon, Parmesan and herbs. I was slightly perplexed at this, and tried the bacon, which definitely was not prosciutto ham! And after a couple of mouthfuls thought that the chef had managed to forget the Caesar dressing. I called over the waitress and requested some Caesar dressing. She came back with a pesto and olive oil dressing. When I queried this with her she said she she didn’t actually know what Caesar dressing was so went to get the boss. Now to say this guy had no idea what he was talking about is an understatement! Firstly he claimed that this was chef’s special Caesar dressing - his twist on it! He would not hear from us threat this was not a Caesar salad or a Caesar dressing! Secondly he said that the bacon was chef’s twist on prosciutto ham!! Next he was claiming that the chef, who not only served up sub standard food that quite frankly I could cook better, but also took 40 mins to serve it when it wasn’t busy, was Michelin trained!!!! He argued and argued and argued that this was a Caesar salad and there was nothing wrong with it - it was a chicken and bacon salad with pesto dressing!!! I was being polite through the whole conversation, and said that whilst the salad tasted fine, it wasn’t a Caesar salad with prosciutto ham as per the description!! Look, I am no chef, but i know a Caesar salad when I see one! I was more shocked at his attitude! No apology, no offer of a discount or money off, indeed the only very patronising offer he gave was for him to walk to the local store and go and get a bottle of Caesar dressing!!! He was so rude! And no doubtedly will see this review and start arguing again instead of apologising. He should consider going on a customer service course - Basil Faulty reincarnated! And to make matters worse - the two meals for £15 were not valid at the time!!! So we paid through the nose for mediocre food, substandard service and an argumentative owner. Avoid this place like the plague!!! I’m defo never going back there ever again and will tell all my friends to do the same.
