What a gem of a site. We got a lovely welcome by the site staff. Very dog friendly! Everyone we met on the site were friendly and stopped to chat. Pitches were nicely spaced & the site was lovely and clean We like a quiet site and this was great. Easy walk to lots of local trails & a great pub. We will be back!! Dog-friendliness: Site is dog friendly. Dogs aren't allowed in the buildings but they wasn't an issue for us. The wardens were very friendly and our dog loved stopping to see their dogs.
Relaxed and clean site on the edge of Tarland on a quiet road. Some good cycle and pedestrian paths close by and the village shop and pubs are a 10 minute easy walk. No Internet though. Very quiet once it goes dark. Loved it!
Quiet place very close to the village of Tarland. Lots of sheeps making noise all through the night I like that but YMMV. Showers clean and the main building is heated. Its stupid that you have to keep the watee button pressed for water which means one-handes showering. Staff was nice.
Beautiful little site immaculately kept by the wardens. The biggest problem was the quality of WiFi. Constantly dropping out and incredibly slow. Nice long walk to Aboyne.
While the campsite is in a very lovely location with great links to quite a few attractions, the unfriendly staff on the site are letting the side down.there was an issue with my booking incorrect number of people booked on it was an absolute mission to sort out in person due to lack of coverage or WiFi - it took me 10 minutes to sort out over the phone once we got off the site and found signal. We also had 2 vehicles and while our pitch was big enough to park them up, the staff made us park near reception which was quite a pain for getting gear in and out of the car. Additionally the site map marked 'children's play area' and we walked around looking for it, but we never found it the area were the play area is meant to be was a grass patch with3 picnic tables. Unnecessarily misleading. We spoke to another camper while on site and their impression of the staff was very similar. We will not return and I have also sent this feedback to the camping and caravanning club
The campsite and facilities are nice. Stronger Internet signal would appreciated as we couldn't even get a radio signal which the campsite can't do much about. Internet is not just for entertainment, it's also a way to find yourself about in a strange region and to find out about things to see and do. The signal is stronger by the site office but erratic there as well.
Well kept and clean facilities, lovely woods next to the campsite for walks or mountain biking on the Tarland trails.
Lots of walking, biking and sightseeing opportunities in the area. Sheltered site with mature trees and nice views to the hills and short walk to the village. Toilets a bit dated but spotless and adequate with Usual tourer facilities.
Great site, situated in a quite valley. Pitches we're well sized, with facilities close to the main entrance and a smaller toilet and wash facility near the read of the site. The site staff were friendly and welcoming, great ambassadors for the club. We visited when covid restrictions were still in place, and felt the measures in place were appropriate to keep us safe. A great site, just 10 minutes walk from a lovely village with a convenience store, cafe, pharmacy and a couple of pubs serving food.
A very nice site showers /toilet block were good by the entrance 2 more toilets and wash up down the far end by the small dog walk tv and phone signal very bad no phone signal Not much near by a pub and a coffee shop
