We went here for dumplings on a Saturday evening - best to book in advance as it is quite popular. We sat in the backroom which is very light but not as traditional as what you see from the street. All the food was delicious, the best are the Baos. There’s a minimum of 15£ per person to pay, which is easily reached. Great to tryFood: 5/5
Absolutely disgusting experience. The chicken dumplings were like cardboard – I had to spit it out after just one bite. The duck spring rolls were equally terrible, also I felt like the meat was off. The rice was overcooked to the point it was like baby food, completely mushy. The prawns were disgusting with the weirdest flavour I’ve ever tasted, and the chow mein was utterly flavourless. The sprouts in the chow mein left a weird texture in my mouth too for some reason. For a delivery costing over £60, everything went straight to the bin. My girlfriend had to go down the road to the local Chinese to pick up dinner instead. This was the most disgusting food I’ve ever tried. Stay away!
We had the best dim sum in our lives here recommend EVERYTHING specially. My mum loves pork puff pastry and prawn cheung fun. For me, I love everything. I promise you won’t be disappointed by this restaurant.Food: 5/5
Wanted to try dim sum so badly and I wasn’t disappointed going to Tao Tao Ju, the assortment of dim sum available it’s quite extensive and delicious, the atmosphere of the restaurant is also really nice, the waitresses are very friendly, the only thing is I had to wait for sometime to get my food, but it was worthyFood: 5/5
Recommended from trip advisor to food podcasts. i heard really good things about Tao Tao ju in Chinatown. After having bad buffet after bad buffet I needed some love on a plate and thought this would be the place to get it. I was wrong, to my disappointment I was served very mediocre dishes. With the best being bbq mixed meats and rice. The chicken chow mein was standard and the crispy chilly beef was below the standard that I expect and have had better from my local and a lot cheaper than £16 too! It wasn’t all bad. The service was great and staff friendly and helpful. the branded crockery, dinnerware and cutlery a very nice touch also. I left underwhelmed 6.8/10
Tao Tao Ju, located in the vibrant Piccadilly Circus area of London, is a hidden gem that promises an authentic Chinese dining experience. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with elegant decor and a warm ambiance that sets the stage for an unforgettable meal. The menu at Tao Tao Ju boasts a wide array of traditional Chinese dishes, each meticulously prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients. Whether you're craving classic dim sum, savory stir-fries, or flavorful noodle dishes, you're sure to find something to satisfy your palate.During my visit, I had the pleasure of sampling several dishes, and each one was a true delight. The dim sum selection was particularly impressive, with delicate dumplings filled with a variety of savory fillings. The Peking duck was another standout, perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, served with all the traditional accompaniments. In addition to the delicious food, the service at Tao Tao Ju was exceptional. The staff were attentive and friendly, providing helpful recommendations and ensuring that every aspect of our dining experience was perfect.Overall, Tao Tao Ju is a must-visit destination for anyone seeking authentic Chinese cuisine in the heart of London. Whether you're dining with friends, family, or colleagues, you're guaranteed to enjoy a memorable meal at this fantastic restaurant.
Average food. Was really forward to a great chinese food experience but this one was average. Atmosphere and service was average. Portion size was good and it had decent vegetarian options too.Food: 2/5
Decent Chinese food, although the consistency of dishes was a bit off! Some dishes were cooked really well and came out hot and fresh, and some the opposite, so a bit hot and miss. Plenty of variety on the menu and can order dim sum alongside main dishes which is what we did. Parking: It's within Chinatown
Food was very good. We went for the starters to share, the prawn toast and satay chicken tasted amazing. A little disappointed with the spring roll as it was way too greasy and oily. The bamboo basket set menu was lovely, a little more variety would have made it it perfect. The XO special rice was amazing, fresh, good amount of seafood. Very good. Just a litle note to the restaurant to update the pricing on the board outside as the prices are different to the menu...hopefully an innocent mistake.
literally perfect! Best roasted duck I’ve ever eaten anywhere, very authentic food and a large selection! Great service and good pricing. Very worthwhile, my favorite restaurant in LondonFood: 5/5
