I popped into the shop on Saturday, I have fished for decades but always rivers fly fishing, I fancy giving sea fishing a try and didn't really have a clue about what kind of tackle would be best. I spoke to the owners Dad and he gave me great advice and sorted me out with the proper gear, wasn't expensive and the advice alone was worth the cost. I would thoroughly recommend this shop to anyone experienced or not.

Known the owner Brian since I was a kid buying toys and pen knifes with my pocket money I’m now 33 and still is my go to place for my outdoor bits and pieces, great prices vast selection of items and Brian is and always has been very pleasant and helpful to his customers great place to visit
Went into this shop yesterday with my 13 year old granddaughter. The shop has recently moved a short distance. I went into the shop specifically to buy Leeda feathers for mackerel fishing. I use Leeda exclusively as they have a clip at both ends and I am useless at tying knots. I was told by the male member of staff that Leeda didn’t make feathers and that it was only their subsidiary companies Mustad and Saltwater that produced them. I told him that I had been using them and he insisted that they were not made. I felt thoroughly embarrassed. Funnily enough they stocked Mustad and Saltwater feathers. We left the shop and drove into Edinburgh to the Edinburgh Angling Centre where the staff are always wonderful and know what they are talking about. I have been in the Tangles shop a few times and the lady who works there is always very helpful. I will never go back there again.
First time to use this shop and will definitely be back, really helpful advice and had plenty of patience with me as I’m not a experienced fisher.

Great tackle shop very very friendly staff the prices are very good to I will keep going back to this shop. Its a little out of my way 20 miles to be fair but it well worth the trip.
