Spent an enjoyable morning here, learning about the history and processes of the mill. Knowledgeable volunteers. They were incredibly friendly. Bought some bread mix from craft shop and look forward to tasting finished bread. Cafe was lovely with home made cakes and sandwiches.

Fantastic place to visit: great tour with lots of information and drawing on experience and local knowledge. Ideal for a rainy day as there is not a lot to do in the area when the weather turns bad. Cafe good too. Some good local walks. Make sure you time it right for a guided tour as this makes the entrance fee well worthwhile.

I attened one of the bread baking courses run by the Mill. Due to various circumstances there were only two of us on the course but it meant we had an excellent time making lots of bread with plenty of space. Whilst the bread was proofing we were served an excellent lunch and good coffee. I can recommend the bread courses or just go for lunch.

Stopped here for lunch. Lovely cosy atmosphere. We had soup, which was served with half a sandwich as a side, (a nice change from just some bread). Great flavours. Well worth stopping in for a light lunch.

We visited the Mill and Cafe on a cold winters day. Well worth the visit indeed the 160 mile round trip. But best of all was the wholemeal bread. My wife makes her own wholemeal bread by hand and up to now she has had no competition. Fabulous taste perfectly cooked, slightly moist with a rich flavour. If the bread was not enough we went on to try the Walnut and ginger cake. We are foodies and pride ourselves on knowing what is good. I have to say this was the nicest piece of cake I can remember, rich is flavour with a perfect balance between the fresh ginger the light fluffy icing and a light but somehow rich sponge. 24 hours later that exquisite taste was still with me. The baker at the mill is to die for she deserves national recognition. Wherever you may live just go there see the mill and then have lunch with red cabbage coleslaw fresh salad with light dressing, two slices of wholemeal bread accompanied by salmon or mackerel followed by the best piece of cake on the planet. And if that is not enough the young lady who makes the coffee really knows how to make it. It is wonderful to go somewhere which is very simple and the folk who look after you get it all just right.
