Really enjoy going to the Talbot better than the pub across the road Very friendly staff and a great beer garden at the back. Food is really good also. We tend to have the 3 items for £12
We went in at half one on a friday to order food and drinks. The guy serving us said there was a wait for food 30mins we thought okay not to bad we will wait. Our food came out at 2.35. the pub was empty couldn't of even been ten people in there and hardly anyone eating. When it finally came my burger was nice but the chips were warm. My girlfriends mixed grill was warm and missing an egg.
Been coming to The Talbot for years mostly on a Friday for a quick meal which has always been very good On Friday 12th June 2022 we visited again and I ordered a 8oz gammon steak which I have had many times before Apparently the pub is now under new Management so probably has a new chief and food supplier but the steak was a massive disappointment compared to previous visits The steak was so small that the pineapple ring was nearly as big as the steak and after cutting off the fat there was hardly anything left Used to love a meal here and I hope this is just teething problems The staff were nice and service fast but as picture shows this was the steak before I had even touched it
Bit like Darlington, a couple of weeks ago, it seems that the price, for selling your souls, and voting that way, is higher prices at the bar. Still a very nice pub, not so friendly for away fans anymore, but if you don't wear colours, or misbehave, you can easily slip past the security... Leaving them mildly confused, that they don't recognise you from any wedding or funeral, that they were invited to. Having been contacted by the owner, I am honour bound to report that the change of stance is on police advice, rather than company policy. I tacitly take that to mean that if you want to subvert Nottinghamshire Constabulary's revisiting of 84/85, then just slip in quietly, and behave like civilised human beings, in which case Jordan will be pleased to welcome you back earlier than he's currently allowed to... And there was me taking it personally, over a friendly that turned out to be anything but.
Bartenders are nice and friendly. Manager is super wonderful lady. Went on Saturday night, there's live bands called Its been emotion. There's large TV for sports to watch. Great size for garden and car park. If you want a great night, best go for Saturday night for a gig.
Spacious surroundings, complete with astro turf beer garden- with slightly wobbly tables! Fab food, nachos recommended and friendly staff
Love coming to the talbot, lovely food as always comes out quickly & always presented well, all bar staff are great & make me feel welcome every time, plenty of different food & drinks to choose from, never have to wait long to be served at the bar, lovely beer garden. love the new upgrade to the women’s toilets! 100% recommend
Been going to the Talbot for years and the meals have always been nice. But yesterday my partner and I was gobsmacked. I had halloum and chips which was overcooked and I couldn't eat it. My partner had a burger which was basic to say the least when your paying almost £10 per meal you expect it to be edible. We not be returning Very disappointed
My family and I went for are dinner and had katsu chicken and mix grill and chicken nuggets for the daughter put my order in and are meal was at are table in seven minutes the waitresses was very bleasant she said enjoy your meal her name was Georgia. The Atmosphere was really nice and the food was outstanding thank you all for a great night.
It was a good pub, we don’t live in the area. My steak was a little bit hard on the fatty side so didn’t eat this. Neither did I receive a steak knife with my meal
