From the moment I arrived at this restaurant, I was blown away by the impressive selection of signature cocktails at the bar. The knowledgeable bartender was a standout, providing expert recommendations on which umami dishes to try. I was not disappointed - the food was absolutely delicious and exceeded my expectations. The bar's lively atmosphere and stylish decor created the perfect ambiance for a night out. Overall, I highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a fantastic dining and cocktail experience.
Staff were really good and helpful here. It’s more fusion than Japanese. Most of the food was good individually, just pricey for what it is. Chicken had the taste of being left standing. Acoustics upstairs are quite poor so it’s hard to hear anything.
Food was exceptional. Arrived without a plan or reservation but the chicken dish was recommended by a helpful guest eating outside. Tasty food. Excellent customer service.
Underrated Japanese spot in central london. Food was delicious. The tuna tartar was incredible. The aubergine was so gorgeous but very sweet! The sushi I thought was mildly average, I didn’t get the huge panko crumbs on top. The wagyu sandwich is exceptional. Very pricy though.. and the popcorn shrimp is the best I’ve had!! Service was good but nothing special. I would recommend here!
All of the seafood were fresh and tantalizing. Creativity underscores the presentation of each dish. The standout dishes were the wagyu sando, wagyu rice, and the most tender chicken we have ever tried. Veggie dishes are also available just in case you don't eat meat or fish. The service was top-notch.
It was the second time my fiancé and I went to Taka and we love it! The food is amazing and the staff super nice. We’ll definitely go there again!
Great atmosphere. Service was a little slow to start. I had spicy edemame, yellowtail sashimi, bluefin tuna crunch, crispy cod roll. Popcorn shrimp. Everything was delicious. I prob wouldn't get the yellowtail again. But the rest was amazing!
Food, although quite pricey, was absolutely delicious and imaginative. As someone else mentioned in the reviews this is not really a Japanese restaurant but more of fusion semi-fine dining experience, but a very enjoyable one. We went for the £75pp tasting experience. Highlights were wagyu sando, black cod, wagyu tartar. Lowlights: Mochi ice cream was very basic and quite hard.
The wagyu was okay, but everything else we ordered was mediocre, and the toast was burnt. Service was very poor. Our table was arranged in an very awkward corner and the waiter refused to change table when we asked politely. After eating, I wanted the menu and after waiting for 15 whole minutes, nobody came. The second time I asked her for the menu, she took my half eaten food which I was not done with, and immediately handed me the bill as if she was trying to kick us out. This is by far the worst dining experience I have ever had in london for the years I have been living here. I truly felt like we were being discriminated against because of our age and ethnicity. The music was super loud and obnoxious. They still charged us 12.5% service fee even there was absolutely no service. Overall, it is the worst restaurant in London. Avoid. Avoid. AVOID!
The food was good but not unbelievable. We both had the tasting menu and the first few items were not great the aubergine was quite tasteless but the wagyu rice and wagyu sando were great
