Scottish Fish & Chips, cooked fresh to order, sit in or take-away.

Story

We are a family run business which has been in the fish industry for four generations. All of the fish is we serve is supplied by us from our own fish house in Arbroath.
We believe in keeping it local so, all our products are sourced as close to home as we can find it and all our fish is ethically caught and looked after.
All of our fish can be cooked in batter, breadcrumbs or grilled and our chips are gluten free and are blanch fried in beef dripping.
If your not a huge fish fan we have a great range of burgers, chicken and salads to choose from.......
our haloumi and watermelon salad is a must try

We had a fabulous meal here. I've only marked 4 stars for food, unfortunately, and only because we've eaten a lot of fish and chips which has been better. But loved our waiter who suggested an upgrade for the tea - definitely worth it.
Great place for fresh fish and cold ST andrews brand IPA. Staff was very kind and attentive. Try the breaded and battered fish and chips. Loved them both. Mushy peas were right up there. The home made brownie at the end was amazing.
The photos do not do this place justice.nnFood was perfect, locally sourced, fresh, tasty and cooked to perfection.nnWhat was remarkable was the fish was covered in gluten free batter. Not one greasy mark on the plate or inside my mouth .. the oil must have been at the ideal temperature. Probably the best gluten free batter we have had in 30 years.nnMoroccan fish stew was a spicy delight with really chunky fresh fish and mussels.nnThen from the daily board we had grilled sea bass with teriyaki sauce and salad. Very simple, but very nice .nnNot cheap at £168, but we ate like politicians and felt like we had just cooked it ourselves how we like it.nnWe will be visiting here for the next 5 years, so pleased to find our first place which is worth coming back to.nnWe thought the service and staff were very understanding and patient. They all looked like they were having a good time and there to please customers.
Perfect place for a perfect seafood lunch or dinner, very fresh, variety of food items that make you wonder what to choose. Service is great and people are very kind and friendly. Highly recommended specially for the muscles.
Price is reasonable.nFish are crispy and tasty.nBut the mussels are not big, and the sauce is a little thick.nSuggest you book the table in advance.
