My daughter started swimming lessons in October and she is doing so well, she is now so confident and really looks forward to every lesson with Ekaterina. The lessons are very well structured and child friendly. Very fun as well and she absolutely loves it. Highly recommended.
I signed up in March to start lessons for both my kids just after Easter. The first 6 lessons, they both didn't have consistent teachers. It was cover teachers. No doubt the swimming teachers were amazing but the inconsistency of a regular teacher was annoying and felt like a waste of money. My eldest made some progress albeit slow, but my younger one had 6 sessions of just crying at the beginning of each lesson. By the 6th week I could see considerable improvement in my daughter's swimming however she wasn't put up a level due to inconsistency of teachers. The teacher who was then allocated as their regular teacher was a newbie. With 6 or so more lessons to go, there was no more progress. I felt like the first term was somewhat a waste of time/money and that both kids only just learnt water confidence for 13 lessons. Fast forward to August when I used the intensive course week to book catch up sessions which I wasn't told about from upfront by the customer services team at sign up, but I happened to find out from a swimming teacher that I could use that week for catch up sessions, I met Mathew and Xavier. Mathew taught my daughter for that one week and Xavier taught my son. I can tell you for a fact, these 2 teachers single handedly increased my kids' water confidence within one week. They both loved their teachers and the skills they didn't learn in 13 lessons, they learnt in that one week. They were both so amazing that I decided to sign up my daughter for one more term with Mathew only. I have no doubt the swimming teachers are all amazing but the company itself could do with some consistency for beginners. The lessons could also may be increased to 40mins instead of 30mins. My overall experience has been good apart from email communication being poor but over the phone, the customer service team are pretty good.
Swimming Nature has made my confidence in the water grow immensely: not only are the teachers so friendly and kind but also committed to making you swim. i learnt with swimming nature from the age of 4 till 14 on the swimming nature children’s lessons and then 16+ with adults and they have improved my technique, confidence and overall ability in the water. I learnt techniques as well as efficiency and stamina work. I think it is 100% worth the price because you are getting what you are paying for - amazing bespoke and personalised teaching. I am so grateful to Swimming Nature for getting me to where i am today and would recommend to both adults and children.
I have been with swimming nature for 2 years. The office staff are great, in particular Regina was incredibly professional, thorough and helpful - taking her time to make sure my needs were met. We love the teachers too who make the lessons fun but also push the children to achieve!
I have greatly enjoyed my swimming lessons at Swimming Nature. The stepwise nature of the teaching allows you to feel comfortable and safe. The pace of the teaching is also excellent, as it allows you to make excellent progress quickly. Mark the instructor was fantastic. He blended patience, humour and safety brilliantly whilst also pushing me to achieve the goals set out in each lesson, hopefully enabling me to achieve my overall goal of being able to snorkel on holiday! Much recommended course!
Poorly Organised at Bannatyne Chafford Hundred. - When we spoke on the phone to book his trial we were told by the service assistant that our son will be joining a girl who already had started her classes just to get a feel of whether she was the best person to pair him up with. We received an email about getting to the space where the training was going on and and details of the instructor was shared. - When we arrived, we spent about 5 mins trying to figure out who the teacher was because in the pool, people look different. We finally saw Kelly Ann who unfortunately didn’t look like she was expecting us, said something along the lines of “oh that must be with me” My son was nervous and I had to reassure him, there was no prep, no explanation as to how water works, she didn’t do much to engage him and to calm him, I don’t blame her she probably wasn’t aware of his trial. she kept asking if he had been in a pool before and even as a family if we had gone swimming almost making us feel bad that swimming isn’t necessarily a hobby for us. I was uncomfortable by that. My son kept releasing a lot of nervous energy which sometimes looks like he is being stubborn but really is a coping mechanism for him. - Kelly Ann adapted well by being firm with instructions but was asking him to do what a girl who had been attending the classes for some time now was doing. That in itself was unfair to me. At some point she asked him to go down into the water to pick up some objects just by looking at the other girl. I couldn’t believe it, my son hadn’t even figured out how to hold his breadth. I should have pulled him out at that point. - At the end of the session she decided he needed a strict teacher, she was clearly not going to work with Him. I called swimming nature to let them know that for a for first time experience the lack of prep my son received and the expectations placed on him for someone I had clearly said had no swimming experience was appalling. I was told Kelly Ann is one of the best and the trial doesn’t mean commitment so basically I didn’t have to return. - The instructor wasn’t a bad teacher, I just don’t think she was the best person for the trial. As a parent the guilt of putting my son through that experience has taken a while to process and I am now more comfortable sharing that experience for other parents to be aware of. Swimming Nature needs to listen to parents and probably help more kids to manage the emotions that come with being out of their comfort zone. We’ve found a different provider.
Quite frankly Mark has been an amazing teacher. He has really helped build up my confidence with every stroke and each week gently encourages me to go a little further outside of my comfort zone I’m so pleased with my progress and new found enthusiasm for the water! Without Mark this would not have been achievable. He has an excellent teaching method breaking each stroke down to its component parts and then building back up to the whole stroke. The location for the lessons is very practical, quiet and clean. The lessons are easy to book and coordinate. In short, I highly recommend him as a teacher – you will not be disappointed.
