Absolutely love this pub! So welcoming, friendly, and great value for money! You can pop in with a group friends or if you fancy popping in on your own, you don't feel like a weird o sitting there! The Sunday dinners are just the best and great value for money! The Swan & Mitre always celebrate every holiday and go that extra mile with there decorations!! 10/10 pub x
Not been to the Swan in a while. When we dropped in for a couple of games there was more staff on than customers in and the place was overheated, it was like a sauna, and forget about opening any windows because they don't open. I know it's been cold, but having all the radiators on full blast especially when as it appears just to suit the staff, seems a little excessive, not to mention what the energy bill must be like! We would have stayed longer had we been able to breath as well as take a shot at the pool table without being impeded by a pillar. Silly place to put a pool table. It was fine where it was before.
Such a great pub. Friendly staff and a really good atmosphere. Food is great too. We had a really well cooked roast beef dinner.Highly recommend.
Absolutely amazing pub, staff very helpful and the food was hot and delicious. I used the Groupon voucher for 2 burgers & drinks twice here with no problem. Would totally recommend this pub.
Can be okay here. But, bar desperately needs an update to go on one side of the venue. It can be chaotic to get to the bar for a drink. I was shocked to have an over 6ft security guard with a tiny ponytail almost knocked me over on a busy night and didn't apologise. I'm only 5ft. Overall, bar interior needs an update and maybe vet security guards.
Warm and friendly on my last visit and still is today on St Patrick's day with Cheltenham racing on TV. Sadly gave a lady £20 for a Guinness and some nuts and fell for the £10 change, could be a genuine mistake, "still a nice treat for a pensioners", watch your change.
Thus pub used to be a dive but since it's refurbishment the place has really been lifted up. It's got some old school vintage pub features but modernised to have a light airy feel. The garden out the back and open window at the front make it great for summer. The range of craft beers is also good so you don't have to put up with the usual choice. I've been here a few times on weekdays and after work and it is a great place. Although I've not been on a Saturday night so I can't comment on the clientele that visit then. But by the looks of the other comments this refurbishment has been a good change for the area which has undergone a facelift in the last 2 years.
Good atmosphere, good staff, prices reasonable, pool table, karaoke, decent food!
The place is lovely and has a good ambience. I didn't get to try the food, but the drinks menu is good. The place also screens football matches for all the enthusiasts out there
I went yesterday lunchtime with my father and I had probably the best pub meal I have ever had. It was delicious.
