Shame that we've only just found this pub after living in Beckenham for four years. Beautiful pub garden with lots of seating, heat lamps, rugs and cushions. Plenty of good beer options, staff were excellent and the food was lovely you can usually tell by how many people are eating on the night. Pizza last night but looking to work our way through the menu in future!
Addition to previous review when i only had a pint. Updated to 5 stars! Great selection of beers once again. Casks were lovely. Finally got around to eating here. Five of us ate and the food was excellent. Pork belly was fabulous! My son had pizza which he really enjoyed. Only one issue was with my wifes mealshame as it was her birthday!. However, the manager was extremely understanding and receptive and offered her a complimentary drink and dessert to make up for it. Really appreciated. Great customer service! Will definitely eat here again. Recommended.
A wonderful traditional pub with lovely staff. Food is of a great standard with ample amount. Good arrange of beers. Caters for all ages. We always make a beeline to come here when visiting the area. Well done all at the Shortlands Tavern
Incredible venue with great food and drink! I had the pleasure of being shown around the new renovation upstairs for events. Absolutely top class finish, I can’t recommend this anymore. Well worth the visit!
Great Pizza’s Great atmosphere but unfortunately due to the amount of dogs or lack of cleanliness I can no longer go as I have a pet allergy. I am normally fine in other pubs that allow dogs but have tried twice recently and had to leave. I don’t have any issues with people bringing their dogs but would be nice if there was an area/side of pub so that others with pet allergies could sit. Or a more deeper clean. Please do try this pub otherwise.
Popped in for 241 Pizza and discovered we'd arrived on quiz night! It was really fun if a little loud; I was round by the exit to the garden and sometimes couldn't hear the quizmaster. Still, a lovely evening out. Great beers too!
the restaurant is very characteristic in English style, it is very charming, it would be nice to be able to keep this style throughout Bromley and not just in some Pubs, when you are inside you feel in England. An excellent Pub where you can relax or for work or with some good friends or with your love. Excellent beer, I tried the pizza and honestly it's much better than many pizzerias in Bromley, I'll be back to try some typical dishes too. Friendly and kind staff.
Was in the newly built conservatory which was really nice. Toilets were freezing cold and smelly. Broken toilet roll holder. Drinks reasonably priced
The beer garden is lively and bubbling, full of local people. The service is friendly too. They serve very good pizzas here, in fact they have a whole menu for pizzas!
An absolutely fantastic pub. Clean and neat next to the Shortlands train station although you would never know as it is deceptively quiet. The food looked great and the Guinness and ales were top notch. And while the locals were pleasant, it was the staff that made the place. Young and enthusiastic they were happy to answer questions about the Guinness/gin Black cab parked out the front used during the pandemic to provide sustenance to all as well as details about the pub's history and how it is now. Great place with a good sized beer garden. Check it out!
