The food was not bad but the seating area was dirty and the staff was smoking at the back/kitchen which filtered into the restaurant part. The presentation seemed a bit primative but the fries were good. The sausage was in batter which I did not ask for. I waited a very long time but the gentleman was pleasant enough.

Watched the guy heat kebab meat up on a hot plate with hot water.  Freezing cold cheese dumped on already cold chips and sauce straight from the fridge on top of kebab meat. Come on seriously.. pizza wasn't up to much either. I remember this place was great. Maybe new owners?Food: 1/5

My son was born in Glasgow. I've told him stories about the Swallow Café for years. We had a memory lane trip last week, and I am pleased to say that the food, the service and the friendly welcoming atmosphere are as good now as they have ever been. We sat in the window and watched the world go by without any of that 'have you finished yet' feeling. The prices are very reasonable, as are the portion sizes. The staff are kid friendly too.

I used to go here every day 35 years ago when I went to Whitehill Sec School.  Wow, how downhill has this place gone.  I should have trusted my instincts as soon as I walked in.  It had a dirty feel to it.   Ordered shish kebab. It was heated on a hot plate rather than a flame grill.  Even the donner meat for a customer in front of me was heated on tbe same plate rather than on the rotisserie.  Also ordered a hamburger supper.  Both items were disgusting.  The lamb in tbe shish kebab was like rubber and had an awful taste to it, I took one bite spat it out and straight in tbe bin with it.  My sisters hamburger supper was also a letdown. Even the appearance of the batter, it was rock solid and the chips were too, despite just been freshly made.  The staff were nice, but overall I felt the premises were run down and in need of a deep clean. The food was at best disgusting.  Needless to say I was back in the car and up to macdonalds.

Chips are rubbish. All so hard and crispy. Could not eat them.Food: 1/5

Lovely food and staff permanent customer love this place cant get enough of their lovely food their is perfect the delivery is the fastest ive ever had in Glasgow thanks for feeding my belly  yummy  always got plenty of lilt here toFood: 5/5

Great for a sit in munch after a walk round the park, or whatever! Chilled, relaxing atmosphere in the cafe. Fresh chips.... Lovely! Good chippie food, fine service, reasonable prices. All good!Food: 5/5

My first visit had fish & chips just the correct amount was plated Just want to say there fish is exvellent  Parking: Parking on the side street quite efficent and easy would recommend a luncheon excellent
