Not the best experience even with the 50% discount. I went for dinner and from the moment you pay, they charge you more if you are eating in which is not a problem but customer service is so poor, table was not even that clean, staff was not that friendly, limited amount of soy sauce and Wasabi, they don't even include ginger so the extra charge is not justified. You could tell that the place needed more staff members to cope with all the orders specially online. In terms of the taste, I ordered the Salmon heaven and it was weird. In some pieces the rice was warm and in others it was cold? I have never eaten sushi that way. Nice presentation and salmon seemed fresh but nothing special. I just feel the place has potential but needs a better organization or I ordered in a bad moment and keep the prices like that because even with the discount it is not worth it.
I have been wanting to visit Sushimania for ages and when we got there it says 50% off which was fantastic. This wasn't the case for all the options I chose which were all Vegetarian but my partner who eats fish was happy. I asked if they did the Sweet Potato Sushi as it is still listed on their site to order but they said they didn't I asked them on Facebook and they got back to me 2 days later saying "Please phone to check" which is odd because surely they should know that they don't do it anymore?? I ordered Pumpkin Croquettes to have in which were hot and it was really tasty. My Partner had Tori Karaage and he really enjoyed it. We both ordered Sushi to take away with us to have the next day, I ordered Shittake Mushroom Hosomaki and Shittake Mushroom Nigiri and also Asparagus Hosomaki. The Mushroom Nigiri seemed more like Portobello Mushrooms as they were so thick and big, the asparagus you couldn't taste. My Partner ordered California Rolls which were the biggest sushi we have ever seen you can see in the photo, Sushi is all about eating it in one bite so you can have all the flavours at once but these were just too big that you couldn't do that without choking. Very disappointed experience to be honest, it was expensive and my partner had stomach ache after eating his sushi, we had it the next day so perhaps this is why but I have had sushi other places which when we checked could last a couple of days in the fridge. I was hoping this would be our go to place especially as we discovered that we have one closest to us in Nottingham but we are a bit wary now.
I came to Sushimania with my husband after seeing 50% off offer for lunchtime. They have a really good tasting fish but wrapped in very bland rice. I felt pretty disappointed as well when they told me that a set I wanted without an ingredient I am intolerant to is going to be charged full price despite of promotion hours. Very meh, next time will go somewhere else. Ps. Also you gonna be charged £1.50 for the smallest packet of weirdly tasting ginger. Soy sauce and wasabi are included in price Ps 2. Forgot to add that I had kimchi as well - tasted like prepackaged kimchi you can get in an Asian supermarket in a huge pouch for a quarter of the price.
Such a spontaneous trip here and I have no regrets at all! The food on the menu looked appetising and there was 50% off offer on the sushi, when we went there! The food, that we ordered, was prepared so fresh and the sushi was at the right softness and fluffy for me, that I could enjoy the rice with the filling, and additional sauce, all together! Truly wonderful! I am not sure how long they are going to keep the 50% offer up but if you're in/near Chinatown, London, I would definitely give this place a try! Lovely service! :
Went to Sushimania Leicester Square with 2 other friends for a late lunch around 4pm. The place is quite small with very few sittings for dining in. We ordered some salmon teriyaki donburi, some tori karaage, a chicken ramen and a duck ramen. The salmon and the tori karaage were half price. Each of us spent around £12 for our meal with drinks 1 coke, 2 water. Overall, the food was nice and tasty. Portions were reasonable. We didn’t wait long for the food to arrived since there was not a lot of people at this time of course. I would recommend this place for the half price bargain and if you are not very hungry , otherwise you will have to plan at list £15 for a meal. Last thing that is a bit of a let down, there is no toilet for customers…
The last few times I have been here the sushi was cooked fresh and it was delicious. I’ve had the crispy duck, prawn and the crab claws. It’s definitely the tastiest sushi I’ve had in a while. Don’t be put off by their old food on display lol
AVOID unless you want food poisoning!!! The salmon here is not fresh and tastes off. I had to throw an entire packet in the bin. They try to scam you by saying that the sushi is half price but they've overpriced it. Like who would actually pay £18 for salmon that isn't fresh. This place should be reported. Go somewhere else.
Come here for sushi pretty much any time I'm in the area - with the 50% off it's the cheapest fresh made sushi you'll find in central London, and the quality of the fish is always good. Spicy dragon roll and Unagi are standouts. Occasionally the sushi is made ahead of time and you can really tell, but it's still worth the gamble compared to going somewhere like Wasabi.
Service ok, sushi not so much, it was freezing as if it had been in the fridge all day, no ginger or wasabi. No toilet available. The sushi rolls fell apart as soon as you pick it up. Not worth it even with 50% off.
We came here after seeing the half price offer online and was surprised at how many dishes came into that offer. The good: Server was helpful and fast. We ordered lots of sushi and it came fairly fast. Lots of choice and fairly cheap. The bad: The salmon nigiri was lovely. However, the maki tasted fishy which suggests it is old and not fresh. The seaweed on each piece of sushi was tough once again suggesting the food is old and possibly not kept properly. Could have been prepared rather than fresh which could explain how it came out quick. The food also came in take out containers without lids which left no place to put the soy sauce. In summary it seems like they are trying to compete with all the Wasabis and losing badly. In my opinion pay the extra for quality sushi at a wasabi.
