Ordered beef bamboo shoots and water chestnuts with fried rice. Generous rice portion was well cooked but not seasoned enough. Plenty of bamboo shoots but prefer sliced as opposed to shredded. The distinct lack of water chestnut is quite frankly unacceptable. The gravy was okay and the beef was nice
Use to be absolutely delicious before covid, but just recently had a take away, Chips we undercooked and tasted like cinnamon, Soft noodles were cold and bland and the curry had clumps in it. Probably wouldn’t go again
Called for takeaway good value enjoyed Sweet & sour sauce ok but do to be a bit sharper Yung chow fried rice good Next time will study specials board some excellent value on it Will be back
What a ghastly place. We went here after reading some reviews on Google but I have to say that I have not had such a bad meal in quite some time. It all started with the first impression when we entered the restaurant and didn't get a particularly warm welcome. We sat down and ordered the food. When it came is when things went down hill very quickly. We had ordered starters a d main course and we were surprised that the food arrived so quickly to be honest. My wife and myself had different dishes and the strange thing was that they tasted very similar one was a sezchuan and the other in mandarin sauce. The hot and sour soup also had some disturbing similarities to the main dishes which was just frightening. The kids meals where presented in a cute way but clearly the pizza was a cheap pizza from the frozen section with some big standard fries. Nothing great but the kids ate it so that was ok. Both my wife and myself did not eat anything as even the egg fried rice was tasteless and without much flavour. When we were approached by the waitress the only comment was that Chinese here was cooked differently and probably not to our pallet. Nothing was offered and charged in full even though we did the have a y of the food. This definitely left a sour taste behind and for me sets a new standard in bad culinary experiences. I have travelled the world and have had chines in England, Wales, Scotland, different parts of the USA, Germany, France etc. And thus know the difference between interpretations of dishes around the world and also in the same country. I will go out on a limb and say that this was a packet sauce and definitely not home made. The basis must be the same across all dishes but at the very least the ones we had.
Just visiting from East coast. Pint of Best was really the best. Crispy noodles too crispy. Had similar dish at different Chinese and it wasn't that crispy it was actually chewable which here wasn't the case. Sauce tasteless. Not very welcoming atmosphere. I liked the schrimps and pint.
Terrible! We only went here because Hong Kong City was closed for the summer, worst decision ever. When even chips taste bland you know you've got a problem. Special fried rice, was dry and tasteless. It had prawns in it which they'd failed to devein, the waste product was evident in all of them! The special chow mein had no taste and no sauce instead it was a pile of dry bean sprouts. Our worst Chinese meal ever. We will never go there again!
First time in trying Sunkai was very good nice size portion. Not one of the most expensive I have tried well worth a try .
In my opinion this is the best Chinese food available in Stranraer. I have eaten from here many times over the last 10 years or so, well every time I visit Stranraer and the quality, taste and service is always amazing.
Very poor experience. I went in as a solo diner around 6pm on Sat. 21 April 2018. The welcome was very lukewarm as it transpired that the staff were far too caught up in the arrangements for a 60th birthday meal. They were then extremely tactless when they showed me to my seat at a table for one jammed up against the birthday meal tables - absolutely clueless! The crispy beef that I ordered was tasteless and a very small portion. Overall a very poor experience and I will not be back.
BEST prawn crackers by far ... Would NOT recommend sweet and sour chicken or egg fried rice for that matter so dry! Tastes like it was cooked yesterday and re- heated .. The chow main is really though a long side with salt & pepper chips
