Lovely big pub tucked away but what a gem ! Every member of staff was absolutely on point and the food was beautiful I had the roast chicken and my friend had the roast beef both had a side of cauliflower cheese and I think it was about £17 each but well worth it would highly recommend
Just had a lasagna and chips before heading to Leeds castle for the classical concert - blooming lovely!! Very nice host my friend are vegan and they were lovely and had great options!
This place has a loud and friendly atmosphere, the staff are really kind and everything came out timely and tasted great! Had a roast chicken dinner and it tasted like you'd do at home, highly recommend coming here!
Went here on Sunday but was pleased to see a full menu that wasn't just roasts although they did look good. I ended up having the vegan burger which was very nice. The staff were friendly and efficient and the atmosphere was relaxed and cheerful. Looking forward to going again!
We are at the Sun twice while we stayed nearby. The Sunday roast was very good as was the pie of the day. All the meals were delicious and served by the excellent staff. The second vist confirmed everything, the BBQ chicken and ribs were fantastic as was the curry. Again the staff were brilliant. Well worth a visit.Food: 5/5
The pub is lovely and is in a fantastic country location. For the summer there is a massive grassed beer garden with a small play area for little kiddies and a smaller patio area with plenty of tables. Many of the tables have parasols for those who need a bit of shade on the hotter days. The inside of the pub has plenty of character and there are a few different seating areas to choose from with a lovey big fireplace in one bar. We stopped here for lunch and I opted for the Bacon and Cheese Ciabatta Melt which came with a side salad and a bit of coleslaw and I also ordered a side of chunky chips. The food here is very tasty, and I was definitely full after my lunch, however, for us it all seemed a bit too expensive which is a big shame as it puts us off from having extra drinks or spending more time there. If it wasn't quite so expensive I would give this pub five stars.
Great food, great choice of menu, great service. Would highly recommend a visit to anyone who appreciates their food. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Catered for babies, clean safe highchairs available. There is plenty of space between diners. Would recommend a booking as it gets very busy to avoid disappointment. Will be returning again soon. Parking: Large easy accessible parking
Wow food is wonderful, what a lovely pub/ restaurant, lovely staff too. I had pie of the day steak & ale.Food: 5/5
Fantastic service and the food quality was excellent. Quite large portions. Good value for your money. Really great atmosphere. All the staff were professional and attentive to detail.
YES! A pub that ticks all the boxes. The Sun Inn is located in a quiet country setting atop the mighty Hollingbourne Hill try cycling up the beauty like I did, you’ll soon get a hunger on from the calories burnt. It’s a traditional, period pub with loads of character, oodles of space. It’s interior is a complement of old and new. I love what they have done with the jam jar style lighting fixtures. Service is warm, smiley, accommodating and down to earth. You feel welcomed and part of the pub social scene. The food, not massive in selection compared to other pubs, approaches food with the mantle “do one job, traditional British Pub Food, and do it bloody well”. The lamb rump I ordered was one of the best dishes I have tried in a while, full stop. A culinary complementary creativity. The raspberry jus, just set the whole dish off. Beautiful. I had a scenic ride around the Pilgrims Way. You should too and head to The Sun Inn.
