Really tranquil and well run adults only camp site. It is on two levels. The lower level pitches are all gravel hardstanding. Each has its own fully serviced facilities. Power, water and grey water drainage. Some of the pitches near to the central building can be tight to maneuver into with a caravan. A motor mover would be a must. The upper level pitches are all grass. Again fully serviced. There is a large field and fishing lake beyond the upper lever pitches field. Great for dog walking. The central building has a small bar and restaurant. On our first visit to the site earlier in the year, the restaurant was closed. This visit it was open. Food was ok. Not outstanding but pleasant enough. The chef cooked a special vegetarian meal for one of our group. Some of the pitches have quite a slope. It could be difficult levelling up a caravan without chocks or ramps. The showers are all wet room types, complete with wash basins and toilet. Large with plenty of space. They would benefit from having trays for soaps/shampoos and perhaps grab handles for more elderly customers. There are three showers plus three seperate toilets. I never had to wait for a shower to be free. It is not possible to pre-book particular pitches. You drive round until you find a pitch you like. This can present problems if you are visiting with friends. However, on the occasion we visited we were with two other friends. The owner told us that 3 adjacent pitches were current free if we were quick and said to go and pitch, then book in. A very well run site with very helpful and friendly staff. A couple of minor niggles but that's all they are. We would definitely recommend and return.
We have stayed here several times & really like it. Big hard standing pitches with your own water tap & EHU. Showers & toilets kept spotless & well heated. Showers are individual wet rooms with toilet & basin too. There is a bar & restaurant open Weds to Saturday evenings & for Sunday lunch. We stayed Monday & Tuesday so didn't try it. Golf club 10 minutes walk along the road has a bar serving food. Site is set is a peaceful area in lovely countryside. There are footpaths close by but you would need a car to go further afield. In all a beautifully kept site with friendly helpful owners, we will be back.
Lovely clean well set out site toilets & showers were always warm & clean, lovely surroundings with lots of wildlife beautiful rural park, didn't get to sample the restaurant as planned due to an unexpected problem with one of the appliances,
A nice and peaceful time has been spent at Stroud Hill Park, it is out of season at the time we were there so not many guests on site. Very relaxed, electric _ water and grey waste at most pitches, well kept toilet / shower suites plus washing up, washing machine & dryer also available. Dog friendly and a tennis court is on site. Free wifi is also available, some areas are better than others for a good signal..
Lovely caravan site, fully serviced pitches and restaurant food excellent! We had an out of the way pitch on the grass rather than a hardstanding pitch which would be nearer the restaurant and bar but we like the peace and quiet of being out of the way a little! Really well looked after site we would definately recommend it! If you are caravanning, you should remember to take your ramps though as some of the pitches need some serious levelling out but it's easy enough and definately worth it! One to be coming back too for sure!
Great caravan park. Adult only!! Under 18s not allowed both on the site or in the bar/restaurant. On-site fishing. Great facilities. One of our favourites.
Beautiful, tranquil, quiet adults only site. lovely staff, very well maintained site with very clean facilities. Will definitely be returning
Wonderful stay, highly recommended, will definitely be back, very warm welcome from Debbie, nothing to much trouble, facilities are spotless, lovely restaurant and bar to relax away the evenings.
Where do I start? Unfriendly, depressing, overly policed site with a culture so bad I need a break after our 'holiday'. Showers have no temperature control & my skin almost got burned their short timers at least prevented that. Signs everywhere telling us not to use too much energy I'm on holiday!. All wash and toilet facilities are closed for 2 hours from 11am-1pm everyday I'm not joking - it would take them 30 mins to clean but no 2 hours. Not great when you need the loo. Staff on reception are lacklustre, surveillance cameras positioned in lots of places. Ultimately this is a deeply saddening, intrusive and desperately disappointing campsite which leaves you way more stressed than relaxed. Footnote: Dogs required on leads at ALL times everywhere on site i was told many times by the temporary warden. On a positive side the restaurant team a completely separate business were friendly and the lake & grounds were beautiful. I have never got so disappointed with a holiday destination. In my 40 odd years this is the worst. I hope the owner reads this and brings about substantial cultural and policy changes as the grounds deserve so much more than this individual in providing.
Lovely site. Spotlessly clean, modern facilities. Peaceful and off the beaten track. Will definitely visit again.
