Nothing but hassle when trying to go through the housing system. Our housing Officer never answered the phone, was never available in person and flat out never responded to emails. Pretty sure she was working from home and clocked in and out whenever she wanted.nTo make matters worse she wasn't even our 1st officer, the chap we had just upped and left apparently and we wasn't informed until after a few weeks of radio silence that I rang in and said what' going on. Ironically we was shoved down in bristol in the back of a taxi one Friday evening. Told to take only the stuff on our backs as we would only been there for a few days. The poor taxi driver didn't have a clue where he was going.nThe temp housing in Bristol was on stapleton Road and if you don't know it, it's dubbed one of the most dangerous streets in the UK. 3 murders and a serious Rape in the months leading up to sending us there..... not really safe for a family with 3 children under the age of 2 is it?nWorst of all the people down in bristol Wasn't aware we had children so there wasn't any cots in place or anything. We ended up being down there almost 3 months in total which mean't moving almost all of our stuff down to bristol for that length of time we dont drive. We was told when we do get offered a place back up in stroud we would however have to find our own way back from Bristol with all our stuff and children in tow.nnStroud council has no consideration and does not care about the people who live in their community aslong as they can tick the boxes and that you pay them there taxes, which oddly enough a letter turned up a matter of days after I moved back to stroud.nnIronic for a council whom I can't seem to get hold of when I need them
Charge the incorrect amount of council tax over and over again then ignore you for a month when you try and get it sorted out. Not like there's a cost of living crisis going on or anything. Cheers lads.
The council that doesn’t care.nDon’t bother reporting ASBO issues. “ We will get back to you” actually means “go away, we will never come back to you and make you feel like you are the issue.”
I have been threatened with eviction in 6 days. I spoke to the housing yesterday and got an appointment today. They could not have been more helpful, helping me to filling the forms in what is a very complicated situation that I find myself in. Many thanks to Benji. All other staff I spoke to were polite and friendly.
Despite accidents, falls, broken bones and many tenant complaints to the wardens, SDC do not fulfill their responsibilities to tenants or ensure their safety. Pay service charges? What for? Grounds people don't care. Extensive, weed infested lawns not cut regularly, look a state when they do. Weed control never done. Large plants growing through cracks in pathways around flats, trip hazards everywhere. Disgusting attitudes of staff. Internal works not done either. Mould. Damp. Broken doors. Stinking drains. All reported.nI will be writing to the press within a month if I continue to feel unsafe walking the paths in and out of my home.
