Prawn cocktail was delicious. Chicken curry was just OK. Fish and chips lovely. Handy to Premier inn for dinner lunch and breakfast , bar as well. No firm favourites, sticky toffee pudding or bread pudding seams to be available at any of the Brewers Fayre recently visited
We enjoy a carvery on a regular basis and like to try new places but we wish we never ate here. The carvery only had 2 meats which were either turkey or ham. Turkey looked dry so i declined and settled for the ham. I received 3 small slices of ham and that was it. No extra as i didnt want the turkey. Moved along to the vegetables and every pot was dry from sitting under the heat lamps for too long. The cabbage was brown, the carrots were rock hard like little bullets and the roast potatoes were like rocks, dont start me on the stuffing balls which could of been confused for mini cannon balls. We complained to the management advising that if they knew it was like this then we should of been told and given the choice to eat elsewhere. The manager was very cheeky and stand offish. She told us we would be refunded but only refunded 2 kidds meals as there was no mash potatoes. This was a total waste of almost £60 for two adults and 3 kids. We had to stop for something to eat elsewhere on the way home. I would never recommend this place and would advise all to avoid at all costs. Parking: Make sure you register your car on entering or you will be fined. Wheelchair accessibility: All on ground floor and plenty of space between tables for wheelchair access
Easter visit. Staying next-door at the Premier Inn. Pudding and drinks at the end of a busy day was in order. This was more difficult than I would have liked. We chose from the drinks menu and the first option wasn't available. So back with a second choice of Guinness to go with Sticky Toffee Pudding with custard. I had a fabulous Chocolate Brownie with ice-cream accompanied by a gin. I opted for an off the menu Sipsmith's Very Berry, asked for a double and only got a single, I made the mistake of asking which mixers were available to which I was advised soda, lemonade, coke, tango, or J2O. I found the unlit mixer fridge myself and opted for a Fever Tree Rhubarb and Raspberry tonic water. We did not opt to stay for another drink, disappointed. There's plenty of onsite parking, good facilities, and fully accessible.
As a celiac, it was super refreshing to be able to have a proper cooked breakfast! Julie was super friendly and helpful and she went the extra mile down to washing her hands just to avoid any possible cross contamination when handling my plate. The gluten free toaster is kept in the kitchen to avoid cross contamination and you get given the allergen booklet when you arrive so you can order with peace of mind. They have an awesome tea selection too so unlimited earl grey was amazing. There was a lush atmosphere and everyone was lovely. Thank you sooo much!! And big shout out to Julie! :
Well I have to honest the place looks like it needs a good tidy up. Our food seemed to take an age to arrive. There is no cleaning being done at all. The tables surrounding us hadn't been cleared in 3hrs, the young waiter was unfortunately clueless to what he was serving and where he was going. The food was OK but not worth the prices we were charged. Certainly not somewhere I'd rush back to.
Popped in for a quick lunch while checking in next door at the Premier Inn. Service was quick and friendly. Food choice was okay and we got a 2 meals for £9.99 deal Place was not overly busy but still people coming and going. Food was out in good time, decent portion sizes and tasted pretty good Toliets where up 2 seta of stairs and through some doors though. Almost though I was in a weatherspoons Parking: Free to park, plenty spaces available. Just pop in your vehicle registration number at the door and you are good to go
I'm not often a critical reviewer so I'll try and share a balanced review. This restaurant was aligned with our hotel so we decided to drop in for dinner. The good parts were the service was very good, the chips and onion rings were nice and the manager was helpful. Unfortunately there were a few issues with our meal. A rump steak that was requested medium came quite well done, the chargrilled tomato was raw and the beef burger was dry. Also I was quite clumsy and managed to cut my finger on the plate that I hadn't realised was chipped! We hadn't brought up any issues to the staff at the time of receiving the order but I'm sure they would have replaced it if we had. The server when collecting our finished dishes was attentive and the manager came to speak to us and gave us a discount on our bill. Overall it wasn't the best experience we had but it was possibly just a bad day.
Not great. Staff vastly overworked. 15 minutes to take my order another 20 to be served. Food when arrived was nice enough what there was of it, should have taken it up under the trade description act. Supposed to be chicken fillet on a bed of mash with sautéed mushrooms and tobacco onions. More accurate description would have been 1/2 a chicken fillet on a mattress of mash 1 sautéed mushroom and 2 onion rings. That all said the low point was 1 member of staff who I understand was the manager, table behind me complained about the wait, the portion sizes agree on that one and that the meal was missing several items to one of the staff. The manager was duely called who proceeded to provide the excuse that the chef was new and not very good, still learning the dishes and portion sizes! Witnessed him spend most of the evening chatting to someone he knew, treat one of the staff in a very dismissive way and proceed to tell the person he was talking to that he was new and again not very good. But the cherry on top was him bursting into the kitchen and announcing that he needed table 6's order right now cause they were kicking off. I wasn't particularly close to the kitchen so if I heard about 15 other people also heard.
This was our stopover on our way to Iona, we had our evening meal and breakfast, food and staff were excellent, and very friendly. One particular staff member Jilly, was very attentive making sure all guests had everything they needed, making toast, and delivering porridge, all round a lovely personality and it shone through. Thank you all. Kid-friendliness: Staff were very welcoming, polite and attentive. Parking: Plenty of space Wheelchair accessibility: The table plan is great for wheelchairs and the doors are wide enough Dietary restrictions: Asked before we was seated if there were any allergies
Busy pub! But friendly staff if a bit rushed. Food was decent quality pub roast stuff, but portions were huge and satisfying. Beer choice decent enough, prices very good! It's not gastro, it's not craft beer, it solid dependable family pub experience and very welcoming indeed after a long day.
