Visiting Birmingham regularly to spend time with my partner, I've had the pleasure of discovering this incredible library. Though I'm not a local, every visit here leaves me a bit envious that I don't have a place like this back home. This library is truly a hidden gem, offering a perfect blend of nostalgia and modern convenience. The atmosphere here is serene and welcoming, and the staff are nothing short of wonderful—always ready with a smile, making every visit feel like a warm homecoming. The library itself strikes a beautiful balance between the charm of a classic 90's library and the efficiency of today’s technology. From fast, reliable computers for everyday tasks to the convenience of self-service checkouts, perfect for introverts and tech-savvy people alike. What truly sets this library apart, though, is its commitment to the community. It's more than just a place for books and study; it’s a safe haven for everyone. I’ve seen firsthand how it opens its doors to those in need, offering a space to relax, play games, or even just enjoy a refreshing drink. The library also caters wonderfully to children, with a dedicated play area filled with toys and books that ignite their imagination. This library embodies everything I believe a community space should be, and the locals are incredibly fortunate to have such a resource at their disposal. It's a place worth visiting, supporting, and celebrating. I can’t recommend it highly enough.
Hi I used to come stone cross library when I was in school in the 1990s it is a brilliant library
Have been to a couple of libraries in Sandwell, and I find the staff at stone cross to be the most welcoming and supportive. Nothing wrong with the other libraries but I feel always welcomed with a smile when I enter this one. The library is a good size and they have a lovely, light and right sized kid section. My kids are always excited when I say we will visit the library!
Such lovely people that work here!
Great friendly staff who are more than welcome to help with whatever needed. A essential service that needs to be used more!
Brilliant local library. Helpful staff and I love the network of Sandwell libraries which mean that it is easy to reserve a book. Important for the local community and for children to find a passion for reading.
Old-fashioned attitudes of staff, library services need desperately updating to the 21st-century. Stuck some in the 1990's
Kids love coming here, they have their own library cards, so can pick the books they want and scan in the machine to take home..
I have given this place 5 stars even though I haven't been their myself. It's a great place for the family to teach their children about the world around them.
Lovely helpful staff ,useful facilities also clean and tidy well organised
