Visited for an event based upstairs of the library. All the staff I spoke with were friendly and welcoming making an efflorescence to be helpful or say hello in passing
One of my local libraries. Really nice big library, with lots to offer. Facilities are good. I use the WiFi for my phone, computers and printers and the machines to take books out and return never had an issues with any of these . The front desk Staff are helpful and friendly good customer service. Lots of information and support here provided if needed. They do different clubs and events and lots of thing for adults and children during the holidays. Shame the upstairs isn't used anymore as I found it was more quieter upstairs. Be careful not to let your books become overdue as the charges are higher than before and adds up quickly before you know you owe £5 for a week or so overdue and reminders come late so I always double check the dates I renew online the website under renew books , as it's easier if you can't make your way directly to the library just log in with your library card number and password only takes 2 seconds to tap the renew button. Printing in coloured paper is pricey aswell even ifs only 2 sheets! I'm sure I paid £2 or slight higher for. Nice space. More of a busy library which can get quite noisy but for the most part its okay. Vast range of books.
Wrong number it's an old number, home ed group on the way here travelling to a home ed cafe finally got the number that works and a man by the name of Tim that said there no home ed group there's only a school here making drinks in the cafe I proceeded to ask for another member of staff as his mannerism is like a road man not a professional he told us there's no one else to speak to so I said if I come there there's no other staff he said well obviously but I'm not getting anyone else I can't leave the desk and there no home ed group only a school here! I have the flyer posted online to say this is at this library today between 1&3 we now are pulled over with 6 disappointed kids and discusted by the mannerism and lack of knowledge by this staff member Tim. Will be putting this into a complaint as my partner recorded his tone and refusel to help direct us or confitthe group was there so I could continue the journey absolutely discusting phone mannerism and tone if I wanted to be spoken to like that I would go onto the road and speak with that type of road man mentality not professional at all.
This library is magnificent inside and outside. The displays of paintings on the wall are beautiful, with so many choices of books to read . To all the staff . Many ! Thanks.
This place is a public library, but defies most of library standards. There's too much noise for any quiet reading. Some people just visit for social chats. People loudly engage in mobile phone conversation, unperturbed of any noise effect created. However, the internet library access is quite fast and reliable. The attendants are also diligent and forthcoming with any assistance.
Bloody awful. Went in to use the printer on the 12th of May and was greeted by a security guard who was very snarky. His tone was very rude and so was the staff around him. Also the people there haven't a clue on what to do. Spent half an hour trying to print a form and the staff couldn't even use the printer properly. Or maybe they weren't bothered. Either way their behaviour was totally unprofessional. Sad to see that this is what the library has come to. I grew up in this place. And now it's just disappointing.
Place was quiet and clean. Staff clearly placed so you could ask questions. Computers were socially distanced. Nice and quiet. Would definitely go again.
Lovely old building. Feels like a proper traditional library. Child friendly and helpful staff.
West Bromwich library is sutuated on the High Street. It is an old building with lovely architecture. It is a fairly large building with a large floor area of books and computers. There are smaller rooms upstairs and downstairs used for a variety of meetings and activities. A small cafe is also located downstairs together with on-site public toilet facilities.
Due to COVID no browsing allowed but you can reserve books online or by phone. Collection then by appointment where you collect your order of books. Tried it for the first time this week and was effortless.
