We switched trains at Stoke-on-Trent station, catching our next ride on the other side of the platform. Fortunately, there was a convenient lift that took us up to a bridge, making it easy for anyone with lots of luggage to get across.
Have to change trains here occasionally, miserable place. Watched an obese man being arrested on the platform last time as he claimed having to buy a train ticket was a deep state conspiracy. The local accent sounds bizarre and makes it near impossible to understand, so no idea what the staff on the platform are saying. Not much in the way of shops or anything to do either so if you're waiting longer than about 10-15 mins for the next train it's really boringnThe whole area seems like a wasteland too from what I've seen out the window, definite League of Gentlemen feel to the place, very depressing experience all round - get on the next train and out of there fast as possible.
The staff were very helpful stoke station today especially nick in the ticket office who was very helpful and polite in explaining our tickets and trains to London very personal.nThank you. Regards James and Patricia.

A normal railway station, not as cool as Manchester or London, but quite normal. There are places to sit, have a coffee, go to the toilet. Good staff, they're helpful. Pretty clean.
