I recently gave birth at stepping hill 18 Feb 2025 and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the moment I arrived at the maternity ward, the entire team made me feel calm, supported, and well cared for. The staff was professional, kind, and attentive, ensuring that every part of my labour and delivery went smoothly.nnThe midwives and nurses were absolutely amazing—always checking in, offering guidance, and providing comfort throughout the process. Their warmth and expertise made me feel at ease, and they truly went above and beyond to make sure both my baby and I were safe and comfortable.nnThe delivery itself was smooth, and the doctors handled everything with incredible care and precision. The postnatal care was just as exceptional. The room was clean, peaceful, and well-equipped, allowing me time to rest and bond with my baby. The staff also offered helpful tips on breastfeeding and newborn care.nnBeyond grateful for the entire maternity team at stepping hill!
We've had 2 deliveries here now at the Maternity Ward.nThe staff and midwives are lovely, and they're really really good at what they do, they also involve the trainees where they can and it looks like an encouraging place to develop as a midwife.nThank you to all the staff on the midwives including those in training for delivering my daughter and son safely, it was a very positive experience.
I see Stepping Hill have had a huge clear out of their negative reviews to try and bump their stars up. This hospital is abysmal. I had my son here. Despite having several symptoms of pre-eclampsia from 7 months pregnant i had triage tell me repeatedly that my severe migraines, blurry vision and tunnel vision were simply headaches and to sleep it off. They only diagnosed me when i was 42 weeks pregnant and by this point it had progressed to severe pre eclampsia and HELLP syndrome. We both nearly died in labour because of their severely late diagnosis. I was in for two weeks after and ended up discharging myself very early because of the negligence. Hospital staff would repeatedly forget to give me any food all day despite me asking if I could eat. I was in quarantine and wasnt allowed to leave my room. Often id end up having nothing but toast all day because they had forgotten several times to give me food and it was “too late now to provide a meal so toast will have to do.” This happened multiple times during those two weeks and I came out practically skeletal. I would go nearly all day without food whilst trying to breast feed and whilst i had organ failure to recover from. Also they repeatedly forgot to give me the medication i was supposed to take every few hours around the clock to prevent a stroke or seizure, then I was screamed at by a nurse when i asked if i could have my medication as it was really overdue and I had missed four courses of treatment. I always assumed they were rushed off their feet but then was told by a visitor the nurses were sat around watching the TV. One of the most negligent hospitals I have ever been to. I never had a fear of a hospital until going here. Its a terrifying place to go if you are weak and vulnerable. I had to go recently for a check-up my son and it was just as bad all these years later. I now request to go anywhere but here. If your pregnancy is smooth sailing then you should be fine if you go in and out but if you have any complications what so ever you are risking yours and your baby's life going here. I don't say that lightly I genuinely believe it.
20 minutes for to get a drink cos lady was working on her own behind the counter.
I and my family thank you very much the whole team of doctors and nursing staff, the best hospital, I gave birth to my triplets on 7/3/24, everything went perfectly I will never forget you Emma Nicola Owen, and in general I am blessed for everyone, be always well!
