Thank you Stepping Hill for such wonderful care you gave my Dad today. All your staff that dealt with my Dad were caring, professional and faultless. You were speedy and efficient, whilst sensitive to his needs. Today was a very busy day, as I'm sure all days are, but you managed to treat him well and have him home for tea. Thank you from the bottom of my heart . NHS you are heroes!!!!!
No problems with the actual hip operation my Mum had or the excellent surgeon. The problems relate to the hospital facilities. The food served on the ward was improperly cooked resulting in much of it being uneatable. Ward B3 was an open ward looking like something from the 1970's or 80's. Physiotherapy following the hip operation was minimal and barely adequate. The nursing staff were good, but the ward environment was not acceptable in 2024. Charging for TV access is outrageous. Consider private medical insurance instead.
My son was a inpatient here. He was on amu unit to start with, whilst he was there a nurse took his bag away containing his wallet. When he asked for it back,he got it eventually. He had over £30 in it , but it was gone. When I complained to a nurse on a different ward all she said I couldn't prove it. Disgraceful.
Stepping Hill aka Stepping Hell... My god where do I start. This hospital is known as one of the worst in the UK for a reason. This is a hospital that understandably why people are sick of the NHS and their failure being a waste of our national insurance.nnThe staff to be blunt are unintelligent, rude and lazy, do not care about patients and who are way overpaid. Their attitude is to get you to wait for hours and hours then blame that they are too busy. When you see them they have all the time in the world, dancing up and down the corridors laughing at their fellow colleges while munching on free food all day that they get while patients are left without them offering at least water to the really ill ones who look dehydrated.nnI have had to visit this hospital so many times in the past 4 years due to my partner having dissociative seizures or vasovagal syncope which means she has seizures about at least once a week sometimes everyday. Every time I have gone in to this hospital you will see a sign saying 6 hours waiting time which cause NHS are stupid and cant read time that means about 10 if your lucky. We would put up with my partner having seizures in waiting room due to uncomfortable and hot room which they would just lift her back into chair, how caring. They have an obsession with thinking I will take blood tests and that's it then we can send them home which they have with my partner because the doctors there are lazy without a brain.nnThe final straw I had with this disgusting hospital is when she fell down the stairs, bruised and scuffed her face, had three seizures in a row, had a seizure in ambulance, then we were put on a bed in corridor. We said we would be higher priority, we waited and waited and the more she waits she will have another which she did. Got told she is no longer priority now even though she had seizure in front of them, no head scan from falling down stairs as she was confused etc. Nine seizures later in that hell hole and 8 hours later we were still waiting for blood test. All us patients talking about why does it take so long for a blood test, its done in a machine in a few mins, the morale they make you feel in there is dreadful. We weren't even being bothered with at the end so we went straight out and then this horrible woman tell us we are doing what we can and I said no your not, every time we come in here its the same, I'm taking her to a decent hospital which put the horrible woman in her place.nnGet these lazy doctors to analyse blood tests quicker then assist with the patient, get it done, stop with the we are rammed excuse, you are slow for what you are paid, you NHS mard about pay increase then work hard like the rest of us do in our jobs for minimum wage.nnWe have been suffering with this issue of my partner having seizures on regular basis to be told there's not much we can do, pathetic.nnSaw so many patients in pain, not being cared for and felt so sorry for them as its a long wait but the problem doesn't always lie with the amount of patients, its the the slow motivation and attitude that these overpaid NHS horrible workers get paid which we pay for their wages paying our national insurance.nnDo not come here, try to go to another hospital such as Macclesfield or Tameside which still not brilliant but much better than Stepping Hell.nnDisgraceful organisation.
Excellent service from staff who were totally committed to caring for patients. Nothing was too much trouble and both day and night staff were exceptionally caring on Ward B3 during my recent stay - Thank You from a patient who was very stressed before admittance and, as my children have said since my discharge, “what a different and more confident person came home”
