We have nothing but praise for Charlotte Crane at Stephens Scown who acted for us in selling our property. Always on the ball, always answered emails quickly and always returned calls. Charlotte was  professional and gave good advise and support throughout the process. I have no hesitation in recommending Charlotte and Stephens Scown when buying or selling a property.

Please do NOT work with Stephen Scown or the Team leader for Solicitor Estate & Inhertiance Disputes at Truro. They will make you pay to support the third party you have a dispute with, charge you if you don't answer their calls when they ring and will not carry out the will as per your later partners instructions. They have now had the trust fund my late partner left me for over two years which has caused me extreme hardship. This is despite all trustees agreeing the trust fund belongs to me. Also charged me £24k on top of moving costs to move house so it cost me about £30k to move house - absolute rip off. Just so I could get an RX4 signed by a second party - to release the charge on my property to move and release my equity. Charged their costs to the trust fund illegal and taken interest payments from this for their bills without the permission of the trustees. This caused extreme upset to me, to my first time buyer, the family I was buying from who had were getting divorced and who had recently lost a child, whilst moving. SS are rogue solicitors. AVOID AT ALL COST

Had a really poor experience with a basic enquiry today - called the Truro office and was eventually put through to a call centre. I gave my details and asked to be emailed back, only to have two different people call back and strongarm my answering colleague with unnecessary questions and the enquiry was still unanswered....  The most annoying parts are that the second person didn't know that we had already been called, and that there was never an email reply as requested. Good website & display of services, but seriously sort out your customer service and information passed on!

Mark Chanter and Sarah Atkinson went over and above.  Yes my solicitor bill was not cheap. But you get what you pay for. Professional advice in a timely manner, with a good and fair result. Empathy and understanding of my situation at all times. I would recommend Sarah, as Mark has now retired.  Both a credit to the company.

Helen Thomas at Stephens Scown has been brilliant for me in sorting out a land registry issue. I am unclear what the problem has been with the land registry but its taken a couple of years and Helen has not her eye of the ball and kept me informed throughout. This follows help with a complicated inheritance. Absolutely not-up themselves and have treated me as if i am thinking person.

I would highly recommend the employment advice from Stephens Scown Solicitors, Truro.  Their 1st class service, commitment and advice given is above & beyond any other solicitors I have used previously, the level of service that Chris has provided has be outstanding.

Ellie is superb. Polite and professional with an ability to make the more complex legal matters easily understood and therefore making a legal process smooth and straightforward.  Could not recommend highly enough.

I have used SS for a number of years for different areas of expertise. On the most recent occasion for litigation I was appalled by the service and cost. The two previous solicitors I had were excellent however they both have left the firm. That speaks volumes to me. I will certainly not be using them again.
