As a visitor, I love coming to Gateshead's iconic Stenhouse! The range of products is fairly broad for what you'd expect, and the shop is easy to navigate. And if you don't know where something is, or if you've got a question about anything in the local community, the staff is more than ready to assist you. Obviously, it can't compare to the Jewish shops i'm used to in the US - but this is a whole different league. And I quite enjoy it when I visit Gateshead.
Wednesday Buns! Only on a Wednesday!! Absolute bargain for a bun COVERED with icing, chocolate, jam and lots more. Sod the calories! This is the life! You better be quick! They sell out fast!

Even in gateshead you won't go hungry, on top of a regular grocery also selling wine they have their on premises bakery with really good stuff.... When you are in gateshead make sure to stop by& enjoy.
Great jolly fellow on the till! Another jolly fellow on the shop floor! And a third jolly fellow in the kitchen! Needless to say a jolly good place to shop
