Great place, love the service and the cakes, the amount of sugar in there cakes are just right. Not too sweet at all.
This place has taken a really bad turn nothing looks clean, the floor is scratched and shabby looking the chairs and tables are cheap and the teapots are stained.yhe menu is dirty and shabby. The cake we got was dark forest gateux it was partially dried out and stale but the part that wasn't stale was great and the tea was decent. But it needs classed up it's like a greasy spoon, I'm used to patisserie Valerie being a bit classier.
Instead of having a £3 cold sandwich meal deal from Tesco or Sainsbury for my usual lunch fancied a nice piece of Cake... What a nice change it was £2.95 take away with a nice cup of tea... LUSH!
Had afternoon tea which was really good value and very good quality. It was well presented and the offer came with two cakes to take home the Waiter noted that stocks were short he offered to put two aside to ensure we had our selection when we left, this attention to detail speaks volumes to the quality of service we received. Thank you.
Lovely atmosphere, amazing coffee! You’ll be obsessed with their cakes eventually! They make the best cakes in town! Try chocolate and honey came, it’s super yummy! You should not miss it ! Go now!
Had an afternoon tea as a birthday present Asked for a vegetarian sandwich. Because one of us did not want a hot drink we had to pay for a cold drink. After waiting half hour the meal came. I ask if I could pot of hot water as my tea was cold. They did without charge. The food was very disappointed ,sandwiches where OK. Scones where burnt on the bottom .no cakes on the plate where a mini of anything that they sold. We got two mini chocolate eclairs. Four mini burnt scones. Tables so close together. 25 pounds for afternoon tea plus 6:70 for two cool drinks. I would never recommend or go there again.
There is a large selection of nice looking cakes and treats. I just had a latte to take away. Found it a little strange that they only offer skimmed or whole milk. I thought everyone offered semi skimmed, so I stand corrected. My latte was very nice, made with whole milk. Must have something to do with the extra calories.
We had a lovely 'Afternoon Tea for Two' yesterday 3/5/18 The selection of cakes/gateaux/sandwich fillings etc was mouthwatering; we were spoilt good and proper! Josh patiently described what was on offer including vegetarian options - he and the staff were charming and helpful and proved my niece's recommendation to be accurate!
Just popped in for a late morning coffee. The cafe is very pleasant and both the coffee and ice cream milk shake went down a storm. The cakes looked great and I will definitely make a return journey.
Bought afternoon tea for 2 for birthday present. They arrived at 3.00 waiter took one look at voucher and said there was none left . They were told to call back another day maybe 9.00 in morning afternoon tea is afternoon not breakfast . Then waiter said he would give them 25% off bill if the placed order . This was a gift you would expect patisserie valerie to have supplies in when vouchers have been paid for and for their staff not to look down their noses . Would not advise anyone to buy vouchers very disappointed.
