My grandfather was looked after here for a few weeks and they took good care with him, and myself when I visited. Nice staff too.
Absolutely disgusting in there, my auntie went for her to get help standing again and they did nothing to help. They used a hoist to put her in bed. They left her in a wheelchair all the time. They gave her food she could not eat, they left her and others alone all the time. They tell their patients they have to wait when they need the toilet, up to an hour some wet themselves bless them. I visited a lot and saw my auntie wet through in bed with rock hard sandwiches at the side of her. They wasn't get her up til past 12 in the afternoon, barring in mind she went to bed about 6ish.thwy wasn't creaming her as she was really sore there, never showered her while she was there, all her clothes going missing and when asked they said we took them to wash which we didn't, then all of a sudden when we told them what would happen if not found, they all of a sudden found them. We were taking food in all the time for her. Staff do not read care plans like they should, or have appropriate training as when my auntie needed toilet a staff came in and lifted her leg so high it put her in servere pain, I had to scream at them to let go, which now has left her in pain. There answer is oh I didn't know, well they should. I'm so relieved now as we've managed to get her out, but now I feel so sorry for all the other lovely patients in there. 2 staff members were ok and loved their jobs but the rest, well you can see from my review and big complaints that's gone it that we're not happy. Neglect on a hole new level. Nobody deserves to be treated like this. Please don't send your relatives to Stella house pontefract. My auntie was really scared to say anything
The staff of Stella House looked after my grandmother for about 2 and a half years before she passed away recently and we couldn't have asked for a more caring, helpful and engaging care. We can't thank them enough and commend everything they have done for my grandma.
Lovely place. Caring staff. I would like to thank them all for looking after my dad although it was only for 4 days the care, understanding and dignity they showed not only to dad but to us as a family, at such a hard time was excellent.
An excellent care home with outstanding staff with dedication to provide extensive friendly and respectful care. Thankyou for all you have done for my father in law ian over the past years. You really have gone above and beyond which we all expected. Much love to all
