It took us 45 minutes to get to Matlock Bath and the same to find a parking spot on a sunny but otherwise random Sunday! Because it was so busy, people were parked all over the place outside of bays so it was just a bit manic. Other drivers also lost every sense of consideration, pushing in and rushing around. But nevertheless, Matlock Bath was worth it as we had a lovely few hours.
AVOID!! Parking nazis are out in force. Spaces hard to come by on busy days but any tiny infraction from a marked bay even if clearly not causing any issue to any other parked vehicle will land you with a fine as well as your parking charge.
Little tricky turning in and out of the road to the car park, so turn with care. It's a busy and popular town so parking isn't too high in price.nThis is probably the easiest place to park of your heading up to the cable cars.
Atrocious way of paying, takes ages. Tried calling my oassword was wrong. Only used it once, well didnt even use it as couldnt do it, my son did it for me on his account, still took 10mins before did mine as well. We saw 4 cars leave because of payment system. Helped one couple, took 15mins before finally went through. The only reason they stayed was because they were booked on cable car.
Not too expensive.n£1.50 per hour, £6 for all day parking. Short distance from everything around here.nnLots of extra unmarked space, tempting on busy days. Parking attendants/wardens are always around, so don’t take chances. I saw many cars had fine tickets that were parked not in marked bays.nCoins only or pay by phone.
