If I could give this car park zero stars I would. Okay, so the car park is a little busy as we visited on a Saturday, during Christmas shopping season. I came with my mum and friend. I went to both machines and none of them work. There is no sign telling you they’re out of order, until you look right up to one of the screens. Then, I have to download a parking app to pay for parking, but it’s free after 2PM. So we’re all paid up, and then my friend and I spy the car park attendant, who has the attitude of a pub toilet at closing time. His manner was absolutely diabolical, he was extremely rude to us when we discussed the parking issues here. “It’s not my job to stand in a car park all day telling them the machines don’t work”, was his curt manner. Yes I understand these people are abused verbally and assaulted and whatnot, but we’re visitors! There was no need to speak to us like that. I’ve attached a photo on here so you people can avoid talking to the gentleman. He told us that because the machines don’t work, it’s free to park! The only sign they had was the sign telling you that parking was free after 2PM! Where on earth was the sign telling the car park was free? Where was the out of order signs on the machines? You had elderly people unsure what to do because they weren’t sure of downloading this parking app. We paid £2.80 for no reason whatsoever. I have emailed Derbyshire Dales District Council to get a refund for my parking fare, and also to complain about the disgusting attitude of this car park attendant. I don’t want to come back to Matlock, if it’s full of rude people with attitude problems. Avoid this area at all costs.
Small car park, could only pay via parking app...no cash
Bit on the pricey side and was full of litter when we visited. Didn't hang around very long as parked elsewhere in a car park just up the road. It was ok but could be better.
Cash or mobile payments for parking, cards not accepted. Plenty of spaces to park and handy to get to shops
Good close car park to Matlock town centre. Although getting a spot after 10am or before 3pm is almost impossible
