Important update July 2021, cafe now accepts electronic/contactless payment! Very friendly cafe owner who is helpful, kind and considerate. Great bacon or sausage sandwich. Good selection of teas and instant coffee. Many types of instant coffee available
Lovely place for breakfast. The owner was very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. I had a full English breakfast, despite it not being on the menu; the cafe can get busy at times, so full breakfast is only available when the owner has time. The place was quiet when I visited and the food was great. I sat in the seat that Jenny Agutter had sat in when she visited! There is a sign and a framed, signed photo marking the spot. Books available in the little library section. What a nice old-fashioned, typically English cafe. Many thanks for making me so welcome.
Friendly service, excellent Bacon sandwich and coffee at a good price. Definitely worth a visit if you're catching the train or not.Food: 5/5

Absolutely fabulous place, visited 3 years ago when I was looking for somewhere to live, went for breakfast and was made very welcome, and still visiting most days in the week, as I found a home up the road. Delicious food is prepared and nothing is too much trouble, she is very kind and caring, and lots of people visit and return. I would recommend a visit for the fabulous food, service and a very friendly welcome.
This is actually aimed at the railway station staff and their abysmal attitude towards disabled people...especially during the current Covid-19 situation. I am a disabled pensioner who struggles with mobility, having spent almost 90 minutes on a bus, I was desperate to use the toilet. I asked this place for a key...They don't have one, I asked the lady in the booking hall. No we are shut. But surely you have facilities for the disabled? No, we are shut. What do you and the lady in the buffet do? We have a key to the ladies toilets. Well can I use the toilet then? No, we're shut. So I had to pee in their car park...God knows what a disabled lady would have done. Absolutely disgusting attitude.
Cosy and welcoming cafe with good value prices. Extremely friendly staff - very accommodating. Books to read and excellent service. I've been several times and would definitely go again. Highly recommended.
A great little old fashioned station Cafe, it is simple but incredibly friendly. With a great choice of coffee. Very much worth supporting
