Great vintage dresses and reasonably priced! Excellent choice for 1950s and 1960s enthusiasts. Will definitely visit again if I happen to be in Glasgow!
Lovely and legendary vintage shop down a wee lane in Glasgow’s west end. The owner is a delight. I found a great pair of vintage earrings and a watch at very reasonable prices. It’s fun to browse here too and not even purchase anything. Enjoy!
Best vintage store in Glasgow!! Most of the vintage stores nowadays are selling clothes from the 80/90s at best. This store offers clothes dating back to the Edwardian times!! True vintage!! Every time I come in here there is a new item, it's very hard for me not to spend all my money! The prices can at times be expensive but not compared to their real value. This store offers bargains if you look into how much the items would cost elsewhere. The staff are also lovely! Every time i come in i get a good chat with whoever is working that day. Also very helpful! If i'm looking for something specific, the staff will help me find it in no time! If i could rate this store higher that 5 stars i would! Definitely worth stopping by!
Was privileged to meet Anna-the owner of this outstanding emporium of delights. My visit to this alladins cave made my day-and my stunning purchases were extremely great value! Was also a pleasure to meet Ava-employee who adores vintage with such a passion! Will be back soon !
Being someone who's got a keen interest in historical Fashion Georgian to Edwardian I had been desperate to visit this shop for many years, I study the construction of these garments as I am trained in pattern making, textiles & fashion design. I was delighted to get the chance to go recently and was pleased to see some Victorian items which both exited and intrigued me as I like to replicate the patterns from the items, and recreate them and I'm happy to pay for special pieces which I believe might be a challenge. A couple of things I found I'd have been interested in purchasing however I did not get a very good vibe from the gentleman working in the shop that day, he was not approachable in the least and I'd have felt like an immense nuisance deigning to approach him with any queries. The shop itself has a very unique atmosphere, but the disorganized manner of the way the items are displayed is quite off putting, I understand its a small location, but it definitely would be a better customer experience to have things in some sort of order.
I’ve been coming here for over 20 years and they always have the occasional item that comes home with me. But man, 20 years on and still appalling customer service from the people who own that place. Was in there the other day and the older woman is so incredibly unfriendly - why would you not want to build relationships with vintage-loving neighbors who pop into your shop on their way home once a week for years? I would be so more prone to stopping in to your place if the staff was actually nice to me. And you know what happens when people stop in? They buy stuff and you make money.
Recommend this business! Ordered a beautiful Viking Ship Brooch for my wife! Package came beautifully wrapped with a lovely note, Thanking me for my purchase! She Love’s it!! Will be ordering again! Tami, from the USA.
I picked up an opera hat that was on display and said to my companion, "What do you think, £100?" At which point the owner appeared like a fury and snatched the hat from my hands saying, "That shouldn't be on display, I can get £100 for that!" To which I replied, "That's just what I was saying." She continued to disparage Glaswegians by suggesting that they didn't appreciate good things and she kept them for dealers. Both my friend and I were taken aback. I would have paid £100 cash in hand, but after that I left my wallet in my pocket and left the shop never to return. I shall certainly be advising my colleagues in the Steampunk community to not even cross her threshold. All in all a disgusting experience.!
I was looking forward to visiting this place but sadly left feeling I wasted my time even finding it. The guy working there, not sure if he’s the owner appeared bored & very disinterested. When potential customers asked questions he would give minimal answers and I overheard 2 ladies saying they wouldn’t bother asking about a bag etc they were going to buy and would try elsewhere. I asked about a couple of items and was given a incoherent mumble as a reply, so I gave up too. It was clear he didn’t want to be there. The service would get zero stars from me but there were some interesting items for sale. It was difficult to see things at times but I certainly don’t mind sifting through clothes racks. It would have been easier to have them sorted into decades though. I couldn’t find much earlier than 1950’s except some Edwardian nightdresses, and bizarrely baby’s christening dresses although some of these were actually doll’s dresses; a friend collects & deals antique ones so I know these quite well. I did leave feeling that I’d wasted my time to be honest, and most of the items were quite over priced too. Even in London I’d found similar things but cheaper. Perhaps better lighting and more enthusiastic staff would help hugely
Love this place, stunning clothes, shoes and jewellery from a by gone era! but best of all is the older gentleman who runs it, full of chat and charm. Just love him x
