Excellent !! Called in for evening meal after detouring to avoid M5 congestion on our way to St Ives . We shared the tapas which was more than enough. The quality of each dish was excellent , very quick and friendly services and good value . Some good beers too. Worth a visit .
Unbelievable! We have been meaning to try them for so long. So glad we finally managed to do it. Previously we booked a table with them, but driving to the wrong star inn as there are 4 in the area. So make sure to book and go to the right one. We chose this pub as there are many great walks nearby. One of which is called King Wood belonging to National Trust which 4 min drive from the pub as well as the other walks. The place is so dog friendly that they have a dog section of the pub you can sit with loads of dogs. Upon entry we were welcomed by friendly staff which brought water and treats to our dog. Service is efficient and fast. They are attentive and do not miss anything without being over bearing or intrusive. They have great selection of steaks, homemade pies, burger, fish and chips and duck. The menu ticks all the boxes. We has burger and duck. Both exceeded my expectations which are quite high. The Presentation of the food wAs also excellent with great detail to attention. The desert selection was amazing too. I couldn’t believe how smooth and amazing experience this had turned out to be for both us and the dog. We had a great day out. I think the nAmes of our servers were Jimmy and Dan. They were genuinely hospitable and liked their jobs and pub. Thank you
Have been going past The Star Inn for years, but never popped in. Recently we got a dog and were looking for dog friendly places to grab a bite for my birthday, saw the signs and dropped in. My wife and I were blown away with the wide open spaces to the rear of the property, and even more so when one of the fantastic team said we could walk our dog down there. The staff are fantastic, we were served by a young lady who literally couldn't have done more to make our visit fantastic, including fetching a dog friendly ice cream for our dog when we forgot to order at the bar. The food was lovely and really high quality, I cannot recommend it enough! Definitely try it out, especially if you have been driving past for years like me!!
The most incredible meal I have had in years so many gluten free options! The most i have ever seen from a pub. The waiters were lovely and honesty the food was so delicious! Would definitely eat here again! Would give more stars if I could. Lovely quiet atmosphere as well Parking: Parking outside Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access for my husbands wheel chair ramp on entry to the pub Dietary restrictions: Fantastic range of gluten free options
Beautiful pub. Owners and staff were so friendly they made sure every need was met. Food was amazing and all home cooked. Nice beer garden with space for the kids to run around. Would definitely make the trip over the bridge again. Thanm you for a lovely lunch.
A lovely find and very convenient for Bristol Airport. We could have chosen anything from the menu but settled for something from the light lunch section. Even that was a substantial and very tasty. Very good social distancing measures put in place. A special thanks to the friendly and helpful staff.
We sat in the bar with our with our 2 dogs, which although rather dated, was cosy. We really enjoyed our meal. My hubby had Asian Chicken Wings to start and Chicken Bourguignon to follow, which included plenty of fresh vegetables. I had the fish pie. This came with tender stem broccoli, green beans and carrots- a generous portion and piping hot. The people were friendly and the service excellent. We will definitely go again.
Almost empty on our Friday evening visit - England football and Black Friday apparently. Usually very busy. However, very warm welcome and friendly service. Reasonable choice of pub food, and tasty. Pub side and restaurant side, with food served either side. Large-ish car park. Apparently often confused with the Star Inn at nearby Congresbury; if you've booked make sure you go to the right one!
Lovely food at fair prices. Good selection of beer. Friendly attentative service. Note. I Tried to book on their website on the same day, but it said no vacancy. Rang just in case to be told no problem. The place was empty! which was a shame and it ment it was rather cold as it is a big place and it was a very cold nightFood: 5/5
Wonderful food, always presented perfectly. However, the staff are so friendly and diligent. Always friendly and nice to see a pub doing wellFood: 5/5
