Delicious food. Happy and helpful staff. Lovely big beer garden - with aviary and chicken coup! Good selection of drinks. Food isn't cheap, but is a fair price for the serving. And the children's meals were massive. The kids loved that!Rooms: 4/5
Sunday lunch here today was fabulous. We didn’t have a booking they seated us no problem for a late lunch and our dogs were very welcome too. Good selection of ales, nice to have a choice of food not just roast suited us all and everything was great. We will visit againService: 5/5
We dined at the restaurant which was stunningly decorated and well presented. Unfortunately I ordered two identical starters and main dishes for my wife and I but the lad serving us thought one of us wanted the starter and the other the main dish. Perhaps I'm partly to blame for not making myself clear enough... When the freshly prepared food arrived after about 30 minutes we looked on in surprise and I tried to order more food, however the kitchen had closed by then. The embarrassed waiter offered to bring more soup free of charge and apologized. The wife and I ended up sharing the main dish which was delicious, BTW. An unfortunate turn of events but despite this I can very much recommend this venue for the delicious fresh dishes, fantastic decor and friendly service.
Just had an overnight stay. As others say, all the staff are friendly and helpful. We had a lovely standard room with a fabulous walk in shower. Extremely clean. Great food and terrific breakfast. Well done The Stag we will certainly call again when in the area.Rooms: 5/5
My family and I stayed at The Stag in June this year and there is nothing more to say than, when you are here, you are home. Steve, Maria and the rest of The Stags staff all make you feel like you are part of the family when you are here. The Stag is fit for royalty. The food is top notch and the drinks are great. Can’t wait to visit again. Unfortunately, google only allows me five stars or I would rate it higher.
Lunch. Sunday Lunch. And a pile of food, perfectly cooked which just fitted into my tummy, but gave my companions difficult decisions as to what to leave. Superb. Much recommended. Dogs welcome, likewise footballers fresh off the pitch. Inside seating, as well as outside seating. Good range of beers.
Ate here last Sunday evening, standard chain pub sort of place mostly worth 2 stars. Service by disinterested teenagers, decor corporate pub design v4, beer Green King uninteresting - though I did like the Neck Oil. Got the extra star because the food was unusually good. Goulash pie sounded like leftovers but v tasty and fish & chips lovely.
No complaints about the hotel, staff or accommodation, which was clean and well appointed, but the "secure cycle storage" promised on their website was anything but! As the owner of a now irreplaceable bespoke bicycle I may be slightly picky, but an unlocked yard isn't what I'd call 'secure'. And the only place to secure both wheels and frame was to the wooden structure supporting the kitchen's extraction ducting.
This place is unbelievable - the could not be more accommodating, helped us by getting our room ready early. Literally couldn’t help us and welcome us enough this place is absolutely lovely. The rooms are beautiful and we have loved our stay - thank you The Stag staff for making us feel so welcomed
Had a Sunday roast here, go hungry!!! Large portions of delicious quality food. Very friendly welcome and great serviceService: 5/5
