I went to St. Paul's Church for my Covid Booster and i had never been in the building before. It's set in the sort of grounds that you would expect churches of it's age and prominence would be in. The interior is very traditional with heavy wooden pews, very large and heavy stone pillars throughout the building and stone floors. There were the usual memorial plaques throughout the building commemorating various events including the world wars.
Such a warm welcome. Plenty of space around to park
Really happy to post this review of my first visit to St Paul's Church in Whitley Bay ! I was greeted at the door by John and some lovely ladies !!! I had a good look around the Church and spoke to John and Michael from the Congregation . The Church opens on a Saturday morning to accommodate visitors to the town . The ladies were arranging the fresh flowers for the week ahead. I felt absolutely warmly welcomed to a brand new Church family ! I was due to attend tommorow however unfortunately my close friend was recently bereaved and needs my attention. However I shall certainly be coming back to visit and worship here. I privately prayed for my friend Nicky in the dark days weeks and years that are ahead of her ! The Church building itself is beautiful. The grounds are immaculately presented and accommodate War Graves. It is my understanding that my aunty Mary Nelson worshipped here. However when I catch up with her again then I will corroborate this information .
Lovely friendly staff very big inside enjoyed the fiesta fair today very calming relaxing atmosphere would recommend this church enjoyed your singing group friendly staff &people Lovely sitting down in the church gardens with cuppa peaceful atmosphere
My Home Church. It's an Oxford Movement style - built to look like it's been there since just after Durham Cathedral was built but actually 1864. Welcoming congregation and lovely, intelligent and wise Vicar. Worth a visit as Worship Centre but equally valuable bit of History. Or just for silence. Church is usually open on Saturday from 10am to 12 with someone on hand to help you interpret the building even if you can't tell your Apse from your Nave
My wife was taking part in a striking competition up the bell tower and I was there to support. I only saw the exterior and the hall. The hall was warm and welcoming. Loos fine. Church closed and locked so no opportunity to view inside. Outside it bristles with security cameras which must reflect the challenges of a town centre presence open to anybody to wander through the churchyard. A small number of passers by mentioned how nice it was hearing the bells being rung. It is not far to walk to the Spanish City which we did later.
Whitley bay FIESTA is partly held here. Fantastic Church with fantastic grounds. Well worth a look.
I was there in the church hall for a bowls meeting. Plenty of chairs so ideal in this time of covid.
Nice church but I was only there for a covid vaccination.
Church hall available but limited numbers. Each group has to clean and sanitise after visit.
