St Mary the Virgin church is a Grade ll listed building.The current church dates back to the 1230s although it is considered to be the third church on the site; the original church dating back into Saxon times. Chancel is c.1230 whilst the south aisle was added to the Nave c.1250 and the lowest part of the tower later that century. The south porch was added in the C18th. The church is not normally open to visitors.
