Believed to be the fifth largest church in Suffolk out of 500 or so this church gradually evolved in the 1200s, 130s & 1400s. In 1495 the Deanery tower was built for Archdeacon Pykenham and beautiful twisted chimneys can be seen in the surrounding buildings.The tapering and slightly twisted lead clad spire is 135'high and contains Suffolk's oldest inscribed bell circa 1280.The grand entrance doors are from the 1400s.
