How often to you get to see two burial chambers in the space of 2 miles. This has been lost in time unlike the well maintained Tinkinswood. None the less it’s still as beautiful with the ancient rocks forming perfectly. I love to wonder and imagine how they got here. Great views all over the vale of Glamorgan from this spot too.Visited onWeekdayReservation recommendedNo
It's just 4 stones in a field, but that's what it's supposed to be. Seems a legit site and not 'restored' by a farmer with his JCB. Nice to see some offerings, there is still some respect for our history. There is only room for 2 cars, so if you are 1st please leave room for the 2nd.
Atmospheric buriel chamber standing alone in a field. Good after dark.
The dancing stones are resting. Unlike the nearby Tinkinswood, most of this burial chamber has been lost to time. The remaining three uprights and capstone form a shelter mostly for livestock, but occasionally for others risking the legendary madness of seeing some stones moving as if dancing. If you make it here, it's a quiet spot with good pastoral views.
Beautiful prehistoric site just off the road. Easy access if able to walk a short distance. No facilities at this site
Beautiful dolmen burial chamber - easy to find. It's in a field sometimes occupied by cows, so exercise some caution. Not a busy site - you are likely to be the only person there.
An interesting, fascinating piece of history please see information board in pic. Parked car at side of the road burial chamber is a very short walk through a field - just watch out for the cow pats.
What a great chamber and lucky to have cows keep me company
Interesting find off the beaten track
Well worth a visit. Totally free to enter. You just pull over by the road and take a short walk over a field. There is a sign at the gate to help you understand what you're looking at. It helps hugely to read it. CADW, the management and custodians, has a website which also gives further info. We went with 5 children and they all had a ball climbing up the rocks and using it as a play house. For a free activity - pretty good!
