Attended a wake at this hotel. I felt very sorry for the family. They had just said good bye to a loved one and deserved a good experience. The family planned and paid for the use of the large function room.  It was a cold wet day and the room was very cold. There was no heating on at all. Myself and other guest turned the radiators on. There was 1 bar man....should have been two. The buffet was not ready on time and it  was incomplete. The tea and coffee was not available without a long walk to the other bar which then had to be paid for....again not as previously planned. The money put behind the bar for drinks was also an issue. There was not one member of staff to meet and greet or check that everyone was catered for. The receptionist was ignorant and unhelpful. A horrible experience. Very disappointing.

Lovely hotel with very friendly staff. Stayed for Christmas (2016 & 2017). Staff were always friendly. The food in the restaurant is lovely, nice range of alcohol at the bar and bar staff always on top form. The only thing I would mention is the hotel is not very close to any attractions or towns but there is a garage on the other side of the road to kind of fill that void.  The only thing I would say against the hotel is when we stayed in 2017 the Christmas lunch we felt like we got forgotten about as we were sat in a corner of the restaurant but there were understaffed that Christmas. All in all a very pleasant place to stay with great staff.

Worst roast ever. Frozen roast potatoes, stuffing made from rubber, all dished up lukewarm. Very over priced. If you want a half decent roast dinner, stick to Toby Carvery.

Such a beautiful lunch we had today! Lovely restaurant and the staff were all wonderful too. Would highly recommend this place.

Food was average at best. My order came out wrong so I sent it back. It came back again with my partner and my steak overcooked.
Then final time the food came out it was better.
The biggest issue is the ignoramus I assume is the manager. He offered no apology for the mistake.  He made me feel like I was an inconvenience and he had the customer service skills of a spoon.
WILL NOT BE RECOMMENDING TO ANYONE!
