Lovely independent café & pantry that’s very popular with the community. Over the last few months the new owner Renata has consistently made improvements to offer customers what they fancy or need. Recently you can choose to sit in comfy chairs by the window or work on the laptop sitting on the stools at the bar table WiFi access available. There are benches outside too. In the summer there were even seats and a table for kids on the patio. Lots of options for everyone: great fresh coffee & lunch / treats, pantry staples from local makers and lots of drink, snacks and candy options for kids. GF options. Seasonal specials! Lots of vegan options too! Plant milk options FREE of charge oat, almond, nextmilk; nutty vegan thumbprint cookies and vegan Libretto Margherita frozen pizza. You can pre-order vegan croissants & pains au chocolat *and* I also tried sour candy sweets! these items aren’t easily vegan!. I like to BYO and get a discount when I bring my own cup, it keeps the coffee at its ideal temperature longer too :D There is customer parking and bike loops across the road. This café is not in my neighbourhood, yet i still make my way to St John’s / Renata’s Pantry regularly. Thank you : Vegetarian options: Plant milks, vegan treats & sweets, vegan Libretto pizza, vegetarian pastries, sweet & savoury Dietary restrictions: GF options, vegan options Parking: Customer parking & bike loops across the road Kid-friendliness: Lots of books, smaller seats; snacks, drinks lemonade, hot chocolate & candy sweets for different budgets Wheelchair accessibility: Small ramp
Decided to visit this little place because it’s not far from where I’m visiting and was very pleased with my experience. It’s a small and simple shop, but has a delightful energy and friendly service. I got a kouign amann5/5 and a blueberry scone3/5. Would definitely go back!Food: 4/5
Great coffee. I've had the espresso and the Japanese cold brew. Pastries are excellent, fresh each day and from an excellent french bakery. Also tried their organic eggs which had great flavor and colorful shells as a bonus. Haven't tried their home made sauces, yet. Interior is very tastefully decorated. All in all, an excellent addition to the neighborhood. Owners are very friendly too.
6 out of 5 stars if i could haha! love this place. it’s in my neighbourhood and i somehow didn’t go to it for 2 years living here. this will be my new go to cafe. so good.Food: 5/5
Nestled in the northwest part of Runnymede-Bloor West Village, St. Johns Pantry stands unassumingly kitty-corner to King George Junior Public School. Coffee there is wonderful they make a great flat white, and the baked goods are delicious there is a great variety. There are some fridges and shelves with various food and beverage items that are available for purchase to take home. There are a few seats to sit the capacity is not very large - but everything is cozy and comfortable. The proprietor is very friendly and efficient, and has made this establishment a very warm place to visit.
I was so happy to see this small cafe open up in the same storefront as a beloved variety store that had been in business for decades. I finally stopped in today for a look and picked up two almond croissants. Delicious! I will try to wake up earlier on the weekend so I can grab an espresso or latte. The space looks great with indoor and outdoor seating and a nice neighbourhood vibe!
Great little neighbourhood cafe; there's a couple seats inside, and wifi if needed. Food and coffee were fantastic, and the ambience was great! Prices were accessible as well, and there are several milk options, 1 fresh vegan baked good option which was delicious, and several gluten free baked goods! Also loved the shelves and freezers full of locally sourced/artisanal pantry items. My favorite part is that there's obviously been effort put into making the space welcoming to children; the whole bottom shelf for shelf-stable stuff was candy, ranging from $0.25 to about $3! They're super close to schools, so this really made me smile. Vegetarian options: Vegan options available, many milk options available, including oat milk Dietary restrictions: Vegan and gluten free items available; many milk options available including lactose free milk. Not nut free. Kid-friendliness: Children friendly decor, books, toys, and purchasable items candy for less than $1 Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp at the door potentially steeper than grade, and no aisles inside.
I was here for the first time this week since the new owner took over and boy was I impressed with the changes. Finally some seating! Happy to support this local coffee shop in the community.Food: 5/5
St. John's Pantry is a great staple in the neighbourhood! They have an excellent assortment of baked goods including muffins, scones, croissants, cookies and more. I like drinking their lattes and my son enjoys their lemonade and hot apple cider. I often get their Feast salads for a quick/easy lunch. The lovely owner, Renata, has added indoor seating which is a very welcome addition when you feel like hanging out for a bit!
Great neighbourhood coffee shop! Coffee was fantastic, & the cinnamon bun was the best I’ve had. Will definitely be back.
