delicious food, friendly service, the foundation of what brings customers. i'll definitely come back again given the chance, nice people attracts me.
Used to enjoy this place, recently however it feels cheaper and just overall lower effort. Had a few middling visits the past while but last week was the final straw. The menu made my ribs with “chili heatwave Doritos crumb” actually sound nice, didn’t realise I’d get literally a couple Doritos crushed on top. Kudos to the menu, it really hoodwinked me. In addition, nearly all my sides were missing. I had to specifically enquire and the staff didn’t seem to realise most of my sides were absent pictured. Their explanations even made it sound like the kitchen didn’t know the order was incomplete also. Finally, describing a tiny tub of bog standard sauce as “BBQ gravy” is another great example of the menu pulling one over on me. The menu writer deserves a bloody Oscar for their efforts. I generally love simple pub grub but I like to get what I ordered and not to be disappointed with how the product is advertised. I don’t normally review, but my visit inspired me.
Never again. None of the food looked anything like what was on the menu. My husbands steak was on a bed of onions and was mostly gristle..yuk. Out of the four meals we ordered only one was just ok. Now I know why they make you pay before you get your food. The staff was also more interested in having their own social hour. Truly disappointed.
The food was very close to the best that we have had and it was really reasonably priced. The staff were really friendly just service was not the best especially when they did not know which steak was medium and which one was well done. The atmosphere was not the best as it was very loud and noisy as there was no physical division between the bar and dinning area. I will definately be going back.
You choose a numbered table and select what you want from the menu and give your order at the bar. Food and drink choice was good. Food came quickly and was very tasty. The surroundings are fine. The only issue we had was there were drunk people around a pool table who were shouting and swearing constantly. They weren’t staying there and kept coming up to the restaurant area to converse with staff. They seemed to know each other and made no attempt to quieten them or move them back to the bar area. At one point they went into the kitchen and came back out, shouting and swearing at kitchen staff. I don’t like sitting in a restaurant with drunk people shouting and swearing next to us. I won’t be back for dinner but I will try lunchtime when hopefully it’s a bit more relaxed.
Christmas Dinner was cold , parsnips were burnt on the outside and hard on the inside Gravy was congealed , looked like the meal had been reheated Staff were pleasant and service was good Pity about the meal. At £44 per head was very disappointed.. Kid-friendliness: No comment.
Used the app to order everything from the table , and was perfect , our starters were all very good , my kids mains were amazing , I ordered the mixed grill , medium rare steak , everything on the plate apart from the steak was excellent , it was completely over cooked , very tough , if the steak was cooked properly it would have been 5 stars.
Great service from all the staff accomidating 50 for meals and drinks couldn't have been any nicer sectioned off part of the pub at no charge a great night and a very happy 18 year old had a great birthday thanks again everyone.Food: 5/5
