Terrible store experience. Came in to pick some collection items up charged £5 to collect things I've already paid for... and all the staff were stood around having a morning stand up. Waited at the till for 5 minutes until someone actually came to talk to me. They sent me upstairs as the collections are on the top floor this isn't sign posted anywhere.. Waited on the top floor for 5 minutes before going all the way back down to tell them no one is actually upstairs. To be fair to the person who finally sorted my order out, they were friendly and helpful. This store is terrible. Unfortunately, it was the only retailer that had my size in some running shoes I wanted. I won't be going back.
Would be a great idea for the manager here to recap on customer service training with the young girl ‘assistant’ who is in the shoe section! My daughter only tried two pairs, yet she was abrupt and rolling her eyes and off hand when questioned about the trainers being suitable. Really felt like giving her a master class on manners but probably a lost cause!
Customer service is appalling as this store. Queues of people and the manager is just standing around telling her staff to go elsewhere and not behind a till. 3 floors of stock and one of till open with one poor lady behind it doing all the work. CLEARLY you do not want my money cause I will never go back due to how badly i was treated just to pay for an item. The prices are amazing but the blond manager who was working today gave me the worst attitude after noone would go behind a till to help out. I just said might you open another till? She was like...."the other girl has just gone upstairs to sort something and will come back down after to help you?" She never came back down and the manager only decided to hop on till once line got so long and the wait was 15-20 minutes?!?? I'm sorry but are the tills below your paygrade or something? This is really shocking behaviour from a manager. I cannot even believe how rude the staff are to customers. I was told to go downstairs to first till in the first place. Sort yourselves out Newcastle store cause you have lost my business.
I recently had a highly disappointing experience at the Sports Direct store. After purchasing items, I discovered that a security tag had been left on one of them. When I returned with proof of payment to have the tag removed, the staff were exceedingly rude and questioned my honesty. The manager endorsed the employees’ unprofessional behavior instead of offering an apology or resolving the issue. This level of customer service is unacceptable.
Customer service in this store is worse. Me and my frnds just asked one of the employee that we want to pay bill half cash and half card payment. He just got frustrated and threw the t-shirt in his hand a side and spoke very arrogant. In the meanwhile manager joined in middle and tried to stop us, even we didn't shout or spoke bad or anything. The employee name is Mohammad. We been to the store around half four. I work in hospitality, I know how to be with customers. Seems, he doesn't know anything about that.
The music you play in the store, is loud and annoying, Rap or R&B, repeating gibberish, however your staff are very efficient getting you pushed out out the door, ASAP before 7pm closing time, more efficient than last-calls, at a pub, 6:50pm this was, but the girl, staff on member on the third floor demanded saying... "you Have to leave, we are closed, who ever this was on third floor 10/04/2024... I had £50 worth of clothing in my hands, so I said because you did it so nicely, ok... but can I buy these items first, as it's 6:50pm, and I was only looking for an extra item, on the third floor too, wouldn't have taken 5 mins, but frog marched with... "You have to go downstairs to pay", if I didn't need these clothing, I would've dropped them and left the building. The girl on the till downstairs was pleasant, salesperson and nicer at 6:55pm, but the management next to her wasn't, sweating also in a hurry, mood hurrying the poor girl for me to leave, salesperson even said goodbye, have a good evening, while the manager next to her, death-stare, like I was a pain, this was 18:57pm exactly walking out the store... Question... Do you not pay your staff after closing, or something, what's with the hurry. I've worked plenty retail and working after closing hours, when it was busy, guess you don't need the trade/money..
The customer service here is too poor! Some of the staff here need to improve their customer service skills.I bought a bag here and few days later changed my mind due to the colour. To my greatest surprise, the overzealous till guy and their team leader together with the shift manager denied me exchange saying there was a mark on the bag.Meanwhile the same mark was on the bag the day i bought it and i never bothered, only for me to come for exchange and they denied me that.I mean how can a full grown adult put a mark on a bag they purchased newly?I use to buy my kids shoes here, buy i will never visit this shop again.
Terrible Customer Service at Sport Direct Newcastle CentreI visited the Sport Direct store in Newcastle Centre today with my wife and our 1.5-year-old son, who was asleep in his trolley. We were there to buy trainers for our daughter. Upon entering the store, I asked a staff member, who was standing with two other staff members one of whom claimed to be the manager, for directions to the lift since the kids' trainers were upstairs. All three staff members were busy playing on their personal mobile phones. When I asked about the lift, the staff member informed me that it was broken. I then asked if he could help me with the baby trolley to go upstairs. He flatly refused and continued playing on his phone. I pointed out that he would rather play on his phone than assist a customer, to which he replied, "I'm not an engineer!" Shockingly, the manager supported his response. This left me with no choice but to take the baby and the trolley upstairs by myself since my wife has back problems and couldn't assist. The lack of customer service and the dismissive attitude of the staff were appalling.I am extremely disappointed with the service and would not recommend this store to anyone, especially those with young children or any mobility issues.
