I cannot thank the staff enough at Spire Bushey for all of their care during my admission. I felt in safe hands every step of the way and had a positive journey throughout, from booking through to coming in and going home. I would like to extend my personal thanks to Sister Kim, who was so kind and caring the whole time. The theatre team were amazing and so reassuring. My room was comfortable and spotlessly clean, pantry staff were all so accomodating too. Administration, porters, housekeeping, catering and clinical teams, and to my consultant, thank you! You should all be extremely proud of the good work that you do. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending patients to this hospital
I was booked in for a day procedure and I felt I was in the absolute best hands from the moment I walked through the door until I left. Every single member of staff I met were beyond polite, caring, professional and helpful. They work like a well oiled machine, and their care and attention is second to none. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the team at Spire Bushey.
My husband had an operation recently and I can honestly say I cannot find a fault with the service. From the moment he walked in he was attended to fantastically. Nothing was too much trouble. A definite shout out to the theatre team in anaesthetics and recovery who put him at ease and managed his pain so well.
Smooth on the day, eveything else was a nightmare. On the day of my surgery, everything was handled smoothly and I was well looked after. My nurse and my physio on the day were kind and helpful. However, every part of my journey other than that day was a mess. Every person you speak to believes from the bottom of their heart that you’re not their problem and the responsibility for your support lies with someone else. I just want support, and to be able to get answers from the health professionals who treated me and I’m sick of being passed back & forward, getting nothing done. Oh, and the secretaries never answer their phones and don’t have a voicemail
I am very disappointed with this place. Doesn't feel private at all. My surgeon was very professional the anesthetic ladies were so professional. The really made me feel special. But the black nurse... No words for her unprofessionalism. It is not about racism as there were many other races with good manners
I had 2 surgeries in last 6 months. Both performed by Mr Sheridan. I have been well looked after in every area. Amazing staff and surgeon. Would highly recommend.
I was referred by NHS for sinus surgery. From start to finish there was a complete lack of concern for my wellbeing. I tried to be optimistic but it was clear they don't care about NHS patients. Every consultation felt like the surgeon was doing it on his lunch break and wanted me out the office as quick as possible and even after my sinus surgery I received such poor communication. I had to constantly call only for them to tell me to use basic hay-fever nasal sprays did not even say for how long. He only gave me one check up after my surgery, where I again, was "checked" in about 30 seconds and sent off. Even when I left the hospital very weak and bleeding heavily from my nose they did not even want to give me a few extra nose bandages and left me to walk out in the cold by myself after a major operation. It's no surprise that the surgery did not alleviate my chronic sinusitis at all and not even 2 months after I'm worse off than before. Absolutely the worst hospital experience I've ever had. If I could give ZERO stars I would. It's very clear that they do not actually care about patients.
Very mixed feelings about my stay at the Spire 7/10/22. This is not an easy place to get to especially if you don’t drive and have to be there at 7am. Nonetheless I made it, arrived at 7.10. Shown to room at approx 7.45 and left after a Buick stAtement some one would be along to check me in and tell me to get dressed. At 8.30 consultant arrived to mark up my foot, have you been checked in he asked, no was my reply. Need to get this sorted as you are likely be first down. Approx 5 min later nurse turned up with forms. Given the urgency she asked me if I’d change whilst she filled in the form. Given how pressured she looked I obliged. I could tell you the amount of repetition in that form filling was annoying. Anaesthetist popped in, repeated some quests but that ok he needed to check what I was having done. Ready to go to theatre and off I walked in my surgical robe no dressing gown. Person taking me was nice an chatty. Theatre staff pleasant and procedure quick. Taken to recovery room, after about 15min nurse called for transport to take me back. Man to wheel the trolly and nurse to guide me. Recovery room nurse mentioned my blood pressure a bit high 170 which had being rising. Taken back to room, as we travelled accompanying nurse said oh you are probably hungry, I’ll organise some food, took over 30mins to get that but it was pleasant. Blood pressure taken again now 180, but nurse asked if I had a headache and left. Probably about an hour I called nurse to go to bathroom, they came and I asked could my blood pressure be taken again, she would be back. What felt like an age but probably another 30mins she came back took blood pressure still high. She didn’t have my notes so wrote it down on a tissue. I asked to see doctor another nurse came in and told me doctor attending an emergency so would be with me when he could only one doctor. By this time I’m developing a headache and back ache. Original accompanying nurse came in and I explained someone else had not since long taken my blood pressure and it was still high he might want to get my notes. Off he went and returned with machine but no notes, took blood pressure, starting to come down, again needed to write on tissue. Doctor came to visit and offered me painkillers but didn’t appear worried. Nurse came in and gave me pill. After a while I decided I had enough and wanted to go home. Asked to be discharged an nurse went off for my paperwork. After a while he returned and walked me to reception. On the way he stated he forgot to do the follow up appointment. Got to reception and booked cab. Couldn’t wait to leave and will never attend this hospital. My biggest observation is the lack of communication between them all. They were so laid back they were almost horizontal, no urgency. They could see I was concerned but I didn’t feel like a priority. Why my Notes were not in the room and the need for tissue paper was beyond me. No blood pressure machine in room, so it was an upheaval to bring it in and out. I normally go to kings oak, couldn’t this time due to timing but I’ll be heading back. You could really learn from this hospital who respond to patient concerns and make them feel safe. They even go as far as calling you when you get home to check how you are doing. I’m not sure you guys actually know I’ve gone. I received a follow up appointment at the spires. Never will I attend this place again.
We had the best experience when my mother had her hernia operation, nothing was too much trouble for the nurse named Ella Lewin, she came in and checked on her all the time, as my mother was feeling so sick and dizzy, she kept reassuring her and making her feel at ease. Giving her oxygen when her sats were down, and checking on her giving her anti sickness meds, a real pleasure and a asset to the hospital team x also making sure I had coffee and biscuits while I waited for her to come back from theatre Please send her these comments as she was a star xxx
This hospital have the best staff. I was very nervous about my procedure and my nurse Samia took care of me brilliantly during my time on the ward. I was super confident that I was in the best care and my constant was very professional. 10/10 thank you soo much guys!
