Excellent meal, beautifully spiced and amazing value with their Wednesday night offer part of the standard menu. The staff were kind and friendly. Portions were a good size and our waiter was happy to bring containers so we could take home what we couldn't finish.
Such a shame that the delivery service completely let this down. We ordered at 7.45 expecting a 45 min delivery timescale. Called at 8.35 to be told it had left, nothing by 9 so called again to be told the same, by 9.30 still nothing and now the phone was constantly engaged. So we went to the restaurant, the food arrived whilst we were at the restaurant around 9.45 so 2 hours to deliver. If we were told the truth through all of this it wouldn’t have mattered as we were in no rush, but to constantly be told lies it’s just not good enough. The restaurant did refund our money, primarily because they could not tell me what time the food had left for delivery. So still not quite sure if it was the restaurant or Uber eats that got this so wrong. A real shame as we’ve been customers for a number of years and always enjoyed the food. Unfortunately this experience has not left a good taste. We were not the only ones on the evening to experience this, two other customers arrived around the same time with longer waits than we’d gone through. Spice lounge you really need to think about this delivery service.
The food and service was lovely. Visited on a Friday with friends over from Spain who were also impressed. It was very quiet but maybe the cost of living affecting us all is reason for quiet night.
The Sunday lunch buffet was enjoyable and good value. You pay extra for poppadom starters and of course drinks. The buffet had a selection of starters such as chicken tikka, onion bhaji and lamb samosas. Then about 10 or so main dishes, a mix of veg/chicken/lamb, a couple of dals, rices, nan. Some a little spicy but not too much for a Sunday afternoon. Friendly service. Kids half price. Vegetarian options: There was dal, rice, Quorn and Vege meals, but these were outnumbered by meat. Kid-friendliness: Kids go half price
Second time of experiencing awful delivery service. Both delivered by their own drivers, took over 1.5hrs from order to get delivery. Chased to only have the phone put down on me when I asked why the delay and is this now the usual turnaround time. Blamed the drivers even though the order has only just been prepared! After years of ordering, we won’t be bothering again. At the time of writing, 1 hrs and 45 mins late now! Avoid!
After driving past this establishment for many years, we decided to give the Spice Lounge a go. We ordered a takeaway for collection. The meal was a little late, but the service was good . We got home. Dished up looked good, and then disappointment set in. The Chicken Tikka Masala was basically yoghurt and no flavour with chunks of hard chicken. The Madras tasted of curry powder and water, the chicken, plentiful as it was, tasted of nothing. Pilau rice was ok. The Bhuna Murg was milder curry powder and water with about 3 pieces of chicken. The 3 chipatis were undercooked, which is ironic as we were told that they were the reason for the delay. In all, a very poor experience will not be used again. Positives are, polite service on collection and good price. But honestly, buy a microwave curry and get more flavour.
Terrible! Delivery never turned up.. after the second phone call they eventually admitted it had never even been sent out. 100% unprofessional, give them a miss
Terrible service. Made an order through Uber Eats that did not turn up in the expected time frame. When we called, the staff tried to fob us off, telling us “all orders have left the kitchen”. When challenged further, they finally admitted that they had overlooked our order completely. Don’t bother with them.
Not Indian food. If you are up for authentic taste, then this place is not for you. When I say authentic, I do not mean *hot*, it's the spices and way it is made that matter. The paneer tikka curry and shaslik came out to be the same dish on different plates. The waiter was so hurried to change the tablecloths that he forgot all about the desserts. We left as none of us wanted to stay anymore! Never revisiting this place. Vegetarian options: Limited options that are not worth it. The pickle tray is also chargeable.
I ordered a collection to the wrong restaurant but they made my order for me quickly and gave me complimentary snacks while I waited. Very lovelyRecommended dishesPilau Rice, Chicken Curry, Poppadom and Dips
