The prices are very fair for most products compared to a lot of other stores in the city centre. The selection is good despite it being a relatively small store. The staff are almost always friendly and wish you a good day when you leave. They have saved me many times when I have forgotten to bring a lunch with me to work. Highly recommend if you do not want to be ripped off and you are stuck for something fairly priced to eat or drink in the city. 5*
The blonde lady with the glasses is probably the rudest person I have ever encountered! Rolling her eyes, huffing and shaking her head all because I asked for a little help with a parcel. I understand people have bad days but going off all the other negative reviews regarding this one woman, she’s like this all the time. Never in my life have I felt so uncomfortable whilst being served here or anywhere for that matter.
I have just been spoken to in a really direspectful manner and basically shouted at by the older lady with glasses because her instructions were unclear. There are multiple reviews about the same woman. Spar customer service you need to do something as I will not be returning.
The old lady with glasses and white hair is beyond rude. Don’t think I’ve ever come across someone so miserable in my life. If you don’t wanna work at spar then go somewhere else and at least save the burden to customers that have to interact with you. I purposely now go out of my way to use other shops.
I was buying a white wine for my self Age 54 and they demanded an ID from my son who was with me Age 19 There was no reason for them to ask for it and he was holding a water bottle for him self. When I said it was stupit to ask my son for ID when I was buying something. They clerk said that should watch my languge othervise I would not be able to buy the vine. I do think that it is stupit and I will never buy anything from SPAR again. Getting threats when buying some bread and one white whine because I think it is stupit to ask my son for ID.

The old lady with the blonde hair is beyond disrespectful, her attitude is very bad, everyone else is so lovely, but that woman is a shame to the business, I don’t understand why she so miserable and rude to customers but I think it’s something that should be sorted out because it’s very unprofessional and since then I no longer shop at spar st Mary’s gate
Open 24/7 is the main attraction here. Always good for a quick beer or snack during night time. Of course, this shop is not meant for grocery shopping. Guy working there was friendly though
Attempted to purchase items using visa debit card, pdq machine wouldn't authorise payment request swipe which is a first for me member of staff refused. Advised manager had informed no visa payments to be expected. In a spar store???? Attempted to get cash.. from cash point in store.. no cash available Felt very embarrassed and violated from a well-known store, "spar" clearly, not a reputable genuine spar I usually visit local.
You will find one store at almost every corner and great to get something to eat or something to drink
