Loved the class. Instructor was lovely and catered for my Vegan requirements. Taught us how to make sushi properly. The food looked and tasted great! So happy we did this cooking class, we would definitely recommend it!
We joined the Sozai cookery class today. Akemi is the most wonderful host and chef and wonderfully assisted by Angela. Akemi is so knowledgeable and approachable. The class was interactive and we made 6 authentic Japanese dishes miso cod, Japanese omelette, miso soup, vegetable tempura, ginger and mushroom rice and my personal favourite spinach and tofu. I would thoroughly recommend !
I recently went to the Gyoza class with Yuka and I really enjoyed it. During the 2 hours class we learn everything about Gyoza from making the pastry, the different fillings, the dipping sauce and how to cook the Gyoza. Yuka the host is very nice and knowledgeable and she gave us a lot of information and tips on how to improve our technique. The Gyoza we made tasted great and I'll definitely try to replicate them at home soon!!
Well Japanese kitchen, very professional service, good choice off dishes! Highly recommended!
Highly recommend the Tan Tan ramen class! The recipe is delicious. Akemi has deep knowledge in ramen and Japanese cooking to share to fuel your ramen journey
Fun day out and learning a new skill. Good length of course and got so.e great tips on making the perfect sushi. Would recommend to anyone
My partner and I attended the Valentines Special Ramen Making class and loved it! Akemi was a great tutor and created a friendly atmosphere, which was really easy going- none of the stress of a chef in the kitchen! Felt privileged to be accommodated in Akemi's lovely home with 3 others. Would definitely sign up to another class in Japanese cooking.
Booked with my girlfriend for a Saturday morning. It was such a fun and amazing experience! The instructor was engaging and had a good sense of humour. A lot of attention to detail and definitely enough learned to start making ourselves at home! Highly recommended
Akemi was amazing and so welcoming! We booked the sushi roll making class, ended up being a private session at her home kitchen! Made 4 types of sushi way too much to eat so loads to take home!. Akemi is soo knowledgeable and answered all of our questions about sushi and Japan. Had the best afternoon and made some delicious sushi. Enjoyed it at the end with a glass of wine and a box of goodies sushi mat etc to take home! 100% would recommend! Thank you!
I ordered the beef giu. I asked prior to ordering if it was a type of curry and was assured that it was. What arrived to my horror, was what looked like a half eaten portion of rice, with small shavings of what was apparently beef on top. It was instantly clear that it would not be enough to sustain me. The meal was not only small but was barely edible. I have in the past when extremely desperate and low on food, prepared plain rice with a can of tuna. I would liken this to that, although in a much smaller quantity. I had to go out and buy a second lunch directly after leaving the restaurant. To add insult to injury, I had to buy a bottle of water to push the price of my meal to over £10 as for some reason known only to the owner, they would not accept card payments for less that £10. Strange. My verdict: Avoid. This restaurant is wildly overpriced and serves sub-standard food
