A church with an interesting history, beautiful art and significant memorials. Open daily, the Gothic church offers a superb ambiance to reflect on our own personal journey in life.
This is a hidden gem in Southwark. The Cathedral is a little bit tucked away behind Borough Market, but it is well worth a visit. It is open in the day and if you go in non-Covid times at Christmas you might be lucky, and they are having a carol service. It is illuminated at night which looks spectacular, if a little spooky.
Love this place. Often come here on a lunch break and I’m always in awe. Everyone is really friendly too. If in this neck of the woods you MUST visit and try to donate to the Cathedral if possible
The present building retains the basic form of the Gothic structure built between 1220 and 1420, although the nave is a late 19th-century reconstruction.
It us known as one of the oldest cathedral in London. Situated near from my campus, Guy campus
Went to see Christmas songs being sung... Lovely cathedral, acoustics weren't great... Could barely hear what was being sung. Stilll enjoyed it non the less.
It's beautiful, a real oasis in the heart of the city... with a diverse and truly welcoming congregation and clergy. I love the architecture and history too... Thomas Becket gave his last sermon here, Chaucer & Shakespeare have memorials.
Beautiful gothic cathedral just on the South side of the Thames. Offering also splendid weekly organ recitals played on one the best instruments in the country.
This cathedral is FULL of history...John Harvard whose name is remembered by the Massachusetts University was baptised here in 1607...
