My girlfriend went to her doctor’s appointment and was referred to A&E by him for tests, just to make sure. She needed ECG & Blood Tests to see if she has a possible BLOOD CLOTnnThe A&E is filled completely, no seats, line out the door.nnShe sees receptionist, gets blood pressure taken 183/101 btwnnSITS FOR 40 MINUTES AFTER GETTING BLOOD PRESSURE BACK AT 183/101nnThey took her in for the ECG, and refused to do blood tests on her, even though doctor specifically asked, gave her papers to give to receptionist.nnTHEY. DO. NOT. CARE. ABOUT. YOU.nndo not go here under any circumstances, especially a life/death situation.
Negligent Care at Southend A&E:nnI am deeply dismayed by the appalling level of care provided by Southend A&E. My recent experience with a friend’s visit to the facility for severe abdominal pain was nothing short of a nightmare. Despite presenting with symptoms indicative of acute abdomen, the medical staff failed to conduct a thorough differential diagnosis. Shockingly, they neglected basic tests such as a pregnancy test or a CT scan, settling instead for a mere blood test and a dose of oramorph.nnAfter enduring hours of agonizing wait, my friend was callously discharged home with unresolved pain. It’s utterly unacceptable that a patient in such distress was left without proper medical attention. The consequences could have been dire, as evidenced by the subsequent diagnosis of gangrenous appendicitis upon returning to Spain the following day. This egregious oversight highlights a systemic failure within the NHS, where patients are left vulnerable and at risk due to inadequate care and neglect.nnThe implications of such negligence are profound, raising serious questions about accountability and the integrity of healthcare professionals. It is deeply troubling to contemplate how many others may fall victim to similar lapses in care, with potentially fatal outcomes. The dire state of the NHS is no secret, but the disregard for basic medical protocols and patient well-being exhibited by Southend A&E is both alarming and reprehensible.nnIn light of this harrowing experience, urgent reforms and stringent oversight measures are imperative to prevent further harm and ensure the safety and welfare of all patients. The individuals responsible for these grave mistakes must be held accountable, and measures must be taken to restore trust and confidence in our healthcare system.
Amazing staff. Goes beyond to help. My little girl was looked after and can’t be more grateful.
After my son suffered a very deep 4inch long cut to his right shin, from the beach! South end paediatrics A&E were quick to see us and they made our little boy feel as comfortable as they could! They even gave our little boy a teddy bear which he named Maahi after the doctor who stitched him up. Cannot thank the staff, nurses and doctors enough, really great job! Five starts from us!
I had to cough to get the receptionist's attention to check in.nApart from a brief triage assessment in an empty Paediatrics ward we had to wait over 3 hours to be seen by the doctor. The excuse was that there was only one doctor on duty and that a more urgent case had come in. Realistically, if that had been the case as soon as the urgent patient had been stabilised they could have seen other patients. If you work in any other industry you are expected to multi-task. Don't expect me to believe the doctor was detained by that other patient's bedside all the time we were waiting. In fact I observed him sat at his desk most of that time. When we were eventually seen it only took a few minutes. Absolutely no excuse why we couldn't have been attended to earlier. The only staff member I was impressed with was the cleaner as she made me a cup of tea.
