Very busy, but staff all really nice and take time to explain everything... Great department, seen on time. Very pleased
AMD appointments always overdue. Long wait in corridoor. Go to 3 different test rooms anf get 3 test by technicians. Go to a test room and see a Doctor who only answer questions you ask. They dont explain the down side of changing treatment in my case regular 8 week treatment became 16 weeks and my sight got worse but nobody cares. Go to another room for injection in eye then sent on your way to make your own way home even though you cant see much. I telephone my wife to come and get me so blocking an over crowded waiting room. This all takes 3 hours. Now being sent to Orsett Hospital with no explanation why. JUST A LUMP OF MEAT TO PROCESS.
I had to visit Eye Unit twice since October 2023 and I can only be so much grateful.nI had been referred by the optician both times emergency cases and the hospital visit was arranged in a very short time. All staff were very professional, polite and helpful.
I was initially sent here by A and E after an injury to my eye, then had to come back for a follow up appointment. Both times I received amazing care and attention from the staff. They explained what had happened , the treatment needed and the healing process . The nursing staff were great and both the Doctors I saw were very calming , caring and professional. Thank you .
