Story

Meaning 'Golden Village' this term originated from the capital city of Bangladesh, Dhaka. Sonargaon has been based in Coventry since February 1986 and to this day is still an Indian restaurant with a difference.
Emerging onto the culinary scene as the only genuine Bangladeshi restaurant in the city we are proud to keep our standards of excellence and exceptional service for our esteemed clientele.

Krishna and myself would like to say a big thank you to the Sonargoan restaurant for making our wedding celebration very special. Special thanks to Adam and his family for making the evening go very smoothly. It was such a great atmosphere with friendly staff. Food was outstanding 5 stars.

Fabulous midweek night out with a party of 8. Splendid food, impeccable service and such a lovely atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back. Can’t recommend this gem of a restaurant enough.

Food wasn't great tonight. No condiments with poppadoms, passanda was tasteless and minimal keema in the nan. Disappointed.
